I find your thread very amusing indeed. While doctors are used to having seen lots of naked patients before it's not always right to see somebody undress in front of them because not only the patients will feel shame or embarrassments they will also feel uneasy. Doctors don't want to see naked people they just want to help patients.
I think doctors are not the one who can really feel embarrassments here it's more of the patients side. In general it's not really a nice attitude to stay in the same room whenever someone needs to change clothes it's like privacy thing.

ha ha ha really crazy....well all doctors don't really want to see you fully naked, so they let you hide what you really need to hide. Also Doctors know that it is an embarrassing situation for patients to undress, but they do it because they have no choice. So to make the patient feel comfortable, they leave the room. But if you don't feel embarrassed and don't mind undressing, you can wait outside already naked

It's a privacy issue. While a doctor is going to see parts of your body, you're not usually buck naked from head to toe during the examination, which is why you wear an examining gown or have a sheet over your body.

As they said..it is for privacy and also courtesy. I don't think most people would feel comfortable taking their clothes off in front of other people they barely know. It would be a bit uncomfortable and embarrassing.

Just a matter of courtesy I think. Wouldn't it be awful and embarassing undressing in front of the dr? Besides, as pointed out by the poster above, you usually wear a lab gown during examination. Not stark naked, God forbid!
