which do you prefer?....
Thinking when I grow older, and sooner that i become a grand mother, i prefer to live in rural area/ province, where living is simple.
Fresh air, fresh fruits/ vegetables, and cheaper cost of living. I find it peaceful in the province, where houses are far from the others, lots of trees and plants and less noisy honking, black belching vehicles...
I could have my vegetable plantation, just within my backyard, and i could breed hogs which could become my income....
I find it so relaxing in the province...

Hi there Budettesky!
Well, as much as I love the business establishments and recreational facilities that are easily accessible in urban places, I would still prefer Rural living. The fresh air, fresh fruits, vegetables and sea foods, the peace and quiet and harmony in the area where we live. The only thing that I wish we would have here is reliable doctors. I had enough experiences proving that we cannot solely rely on our doctors here in the province.

yeah, i agree with you nanayangle!
but nowadays the government are now improving their services...
sooner or later the count of rural doctors would be the same as the city ones.
equipped with good knowledge and new facilities, as well with the growth of hospitals in provinces...
its really good living in provinces and much safer...

hello budettesky!
having experienced living in urban cities and rural places alike, i could say i have seen the best and worst of both worlds. In so far as permanent residency is in question, i would choose to live in the rural areas because of the serenity, the fresh air and the close-to-nature appeal of the environment it gives. Urban cities or towns are good for vacations or a week's stay for malling, painting the town red and having some rare, good fun but i would not want to live in these areas because it gives me the headaches.
all the traffics and the honking, when you just want to go the park to enjoy the scenery and serenity is not worth it. neighbors who you barely know and see. buildings which block your view of the blue sky. In the rural areas, you just have to walk or for some, just step out of your door, to be in close contact with mother nature. The chirping of the birds, the trees and all that which gives out serenity by just being them, the fresh air, fresh food, things hard to gain and find in the urban areas.

For me I don't really think that it would ever be possible for me to live in a completely rural setting. The reason that I feel this way is because of the fact that I am much too addicted to the creature comforts that I've been exposed to in my life. However, I also don't want to live right in the thick of things. The best choice for me is to live on the outskirts of town where I can reach conveniences as I need them, but it is also quiet around where I live and we actually have a yard.

I live in a very crowded city. I'm sick of that pollution. I'm desired of living in a village. I love the way villagers live their life. They are pure, kind, and honest. Beside, the nature there is always great. I can breathe fresh air there. In city, I can only breathe pollution and pollution. How I love the village!

I'm a rural liver, and plan on living rural for the rest of my life. Like you noted, the fresh air, fruits, and cheaper cost of living are just a few of the many plus points. Farming work could be done in the back yard, but I would opt for shopping groceries. The scenery is by far the best part of living in the suburbs, as the over crowding and dirty look of the city make me want to puke sometimes. There is less to be tensed about in this situation, because lots of space can be utilized for driving, walking and living. The noise level of the city just keeps on getting worse, but where I live, the housing developments are finished and I can rest assured there won't be more houses built near me. People who live in the city have health problems do to bad air and they will live less than their counterparts of the suburbs. Also, as income goes up, lots of investments can be made for the house. This will make quality of living inside the house go upwards.

That is exactly what I have in mind. I really love nature and hate the sound of machines and loud music. Simple and quite living is refreshing. But considering that I need to work for the future then I have to be in the city area as of the moment. But given the chance in the future, I would surely go for the rural areas.

I guess I have best of both worlds for now. I work in a small city which has still more rural feel than urban. There are still ricefields and canefields and people ahve gardens for vegetables and place for pigs and cows. I walk to the market and come back on a pedicab, a bicycle with a small sidecar.
I go home to a bigger city which has traffic and everything but home has a small vegetable patch and trees in the city are still plentiful.

Hi Budettesky and welcome to my lot. I love living way out in the boonies. No close neighbors to worry about. Our garden space and the dogs have plenty of room to roam. And don't have that much traffic on the road in front of our home. We have only about a dozen vehicles run up and down our road a day. It is so nice to live way out in the country. PEACE and QUITE !

My dream is to live in a rural place where I am near the beach with solid and concrete house and I have a vegetable backyard and my house is surrounded by trees. But I should still have a satellite dish for internet connection, cable TV, and phone network service. I like to have fresh air everyday and swim to the beach near my house. Have some pets with me if I will have no family of my own. These are the things that I wanted.

I have always been a city person, and I have always thought I would never be able to forget about urban living. That was then. Now that I am a bit older (and married), I am a bit tired of some things, such as hearing my neighbors playing delicious music at uncanny hours while I just want to enjoy my book.
At this point, I would even say that the best solution for me would involve some sort of hermit retreat in a cabin lost in the woods.

Hi, from my point of view and my habits i definitely prefer urban living, lots of people, lots of places to go, lots of events and so on. But I am still young and I can not imagine living on the village or small town where everything is closed after 5pm or there are no shops/pubs/clubs/cinemas etc at all. I think when i get older (still loooad time to go ;) ) i could live on a village but close to some bigger city or a town. I like spending my summer and winter holidays on the village. Thats ture.

For me the choice has been more to be near the people I love than to be in a city or in the country. Many times, when my husband was alive, we thought of going to the country. But the best schools are in the citiy and we wanted the best education for our children. Now that I live alone, I like to be at minutes driving from my children and grandchildren.
