Your all-time-favorite 80`s movie

One of the best 80`s movies that made an impact on me was E.T. (Extra-terrestrial). It was directed by Steven Spielberg and it was truly a wholesome movie for kids back then, especially for those who were fascinated with the mystery of aliens. For me E.T. was the best form of sci-fi movie that captured the hearts of kids rather than frighten them. Even watching it now gives me a nostalgic feel about my childhood-the toys I used to play, the music and fashion in that era; it was a good time being a kid back in that time.

Great Question! There were So many great 80's films. I didn;'t have a all time favorite.I have Many. Absense of Malice is the drama that comes to mind. Bachelor Party is the comedy. Out Of Africa is the epic/romance. Star Trek 11, The Wrath Of Khan was the best Sci-Fi. Die Hard the best action? I am not sure . And mystery? Jagged Edge? This one is a guess.

Thanks Rvidanes. I know it was in the early 80's but I am not sure it was the best mystery. My mine went blank when it came to mystery movies of the 80's! Silence of The Lambs was 1991! That was the first film that came to mind!

Hi sarahruthbeth22. Yes Jagged Edge was an 80`s movie. I just don`t recall watching it, maybe I was a little bit younger when this movie was released but it sure was an 80`s item.

I know this may sound weird... but my favorite 80s (late 80s I think) is the Never Ending Story series. I remember loving that film when I was a kid. ...and I still get nostalgic when I hear the theme song to the movie. :)

My all-time favorite movie of the 80s was Back to The Future (or BTTF in short) hands down. Until today, I can still remember all the memorable scenes, dialogues and characters in the movie. Even these days when I watch the movie I still laugh out loud at the funny scenes even though I have watched the movie countless times. I guess the notion of time travel really appeals to me and I think it is still the dream of many people that time travel will actually become possible one day in the future.....

Hi, rvidanes Welcome to Mylot. I like the movies starring Molly Ringwald like Pretty in Pink and Sixteen Candles. I also like The Lost Boys because I like Jason Patric and the young Kiefer Sutherland. Ghostbusters and Mannequin were great for me then too. It was nice remembering those movies. Cheers!

Mine would have to be 'Hiding Out', which starred Jon Cryer who was a 31 year old (and babyfaced) witness to a crime, so he changed his appearances and posed as a high school student at his cousin's school.

i was more of a 90's kid so i grew up watching mostly 90's movies as far as know. among the 80's movies that i'm aware of, 'Empire of the Sun' touches me the most. incidentally, it's another Spielberg movie. it follows the story of a British kid stationed in China who got separated from his parents during Imperial Japan's invasion of China during World War 2. it's a great movies and Christian Bale's acting was just brilliant for a 11 or 12-year old kid. no wonder he became such a big star later on with lead roles in Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, Terminator Salvation, Public Enemies, and seceral other high-profile movies. Steven Spielberg is my all-time favorite director and i admire most of his works that i've come across, most notably Saving Private Ryan (my all-time favorite movie), Band of Brothers (my all-time Favorite tv series), Schindler's List, Empire of the Sun, Back to the Future trilogy, Jurassic Park, Indiana Jones series, E.T., etc.

The 80s was such a great decade for movies and I still have many favourites that I am happy to watch from the likes of The Karate Kid through to the National Lampoon's movies. But if I was told I could take just one 80s movie with me onto a Desert Island I would have to go with "The Breakfast Club" because it delivers so much fun on top of an entertaining storyline.

The Indiana Jones trilogy definitely. Everytime they rerun it on TV I always watch it. The hunt for a treasure with its hillarious comedy are so much fun to watch. I absolutely love how he must solve all these mysteries to get the valuable treasure. The fourth sequel was awful though and needless to be done.

There have been so many great movies of the 80s era. One film from the 80s that I could watch again and again is Sixteen Candles. It is such a sweet and romantic movie that brings back so many moments of high school. It is a movie that never seem to lose its touch.

I was in high school during the 80s, thus my favorite movies were the teen movies like The Karate Kid (Ralph Macchio), The Outsiders, 16 Candles, Ferries Bueller's Day Off, Zapped, and many others. My favorite teen stars back then were Ralph Macchio,Scott Baio, Andrew McCarthy, Kristy McNichol, Tom Howell. I also loved movies that had a lot of music and with great soundtracks like Flashdance, Staying Alive, Footloose. The 80s was a very colorful era with a bizarre but fun fashion sense.
