Well, since most of the world's population is actually having a problem with obesity these days. Health is now a major topic amongst communities all over the world. I have always heard the statement "Health is wealth". Do you guys believe in this? And why? Do you really need to be super fit to be healthy? What is your definition of healthy? and why?

I believe that your health is valuable. I was brought up to eat fairly healthy and took part in sports and dance. I do not exercise on a regular basis but I am not out of shape or obese. I do walk to my local grocery store instead of driving. I also have a job where I don't have health insurance and if I get sick I'll have to pay out of pocket and not get paid for the days I am out of work. I'd rather spend extra money on healthier food than on doctor's bills. It's worked so far. I haven't gotten ill in 3 years and I work in a daycare where germs are everywhere.

lol If you go by that definition of healthy then most people are terribly ill. Especially if you consider stress unhealthy.

I would follow that, for reason that I am in the Medical Field.

Well, people need to be healthy. The key to being healthy is being active in any small way. As well, as eating properly as well. But, generally being healthy as stated by the WHO is a person also with no mental illnesses. So, is everyone generally healthy?

thats true! health is wealth because it is the most precious thing we own. it doesnt mean you need to be sexy or slim to be called healthy. a person who is healthy is the one who takes care his or herself physically. a proper diet that includes healthy food not because you want to look slim but to gain a healthy lifestyle

You are right. But via standards of WHO or via the medical field a healthy person is free from mental illness as well.

I think healthy person is one who has a body which can maintain the physiology normally while fighting with infections and other disorders faced by the body. In other words a body in unison with surrounding is a healthy body. Previously when I was young I never have given any importance to health. I never has a routine. I used to eat any time and anything. I used to stay awaken late nights. I hardly used to have any physical exercise etc. But now having attained the age of fifty, I realised that I was wrong and i have neglected most important thing Health in the conquest of Wealth. Unfortunately today also I am same and hardly have time to mend my habits as I am hard pressed with my professional commitments. Though I can't follow the principles to lead a healthy life, I definitely feel that I am unable to do so and wold like to appeal all the people of this forum to take care of their health, as Health is Wealth! Thanks For initiating such a purposeful discussion! Thanks !

Well, just like you I never gave too much thought about health, even as a medical student. Then one day, I decided to get nutritionally inclined. I did lose weight, kicked the habit of drinking sodas and those trans fat containing foods. I kicked cholesterol as well. Now, I feel good and work out almost everyday and I never regretted doing it. Thank you as well for sharing your thoughts. I hope people would share as well. Happy Mylotting!

Of course the health stands for the wealth. Today the health care fee can be crazy expensive. Not everybody can afford it. Besides, if you have poor health, you can't work and earn from it. You have to spend your money on your health. I love China

I agree with you when you said "Today the health care fee can be crazy expensive." in fact health care is so expensive it manages to increase mortality rates in the country where I am from.

Well, I think health is my best and most valuable wealth, In China, it is an old says going: health is the wealth of revolution. I support this point, because, you have a good health, you can do anything you want to do, but you are ill or you are disable, you can't. Today many specilist difinit healthy as two sides--physical healthy and psycal healthy, the former one' meaning is you are no ill, and the later one is saying that you are optimsion. Only have you these two sides well, you can be a healthy man

It really depends, in my opinion. In some places, health is wealth that is true, but what if you do not have wealth? Some countries do have a poverty problem and only the people who have the bucks for it get treated.
