Do you have an outline for it? Maybe role play with someone and immerse yourself into that character, and then write more? And toggle from character to character?

I have a pretty good outline on what it's about I'm just having major trouble trying to get it down on paper or type that is...and tie each scene together and the role playing is a good idea I'll give it a try, plus it'll give me a better chance to understand my characters more...

Awesome. Do you have a hand held tape recorder, or even a digital cam? You will have a reference, and can use that to aid in getting it on paper. Good luck!

It's difficult to give any kind of good advice, because each writer is different. Me I can only write from start to finish, but if you have an outline, as you mentioned in the comment above and a pretty good idea of what happens, I would suggest to write down the scenes you feel best about and then slowly write another scene from the outline and another one. At the very beginning don't worry about making a smooth transition between the scenes. There will be time for that later once you have all the important scenes written. You can also consider joining a writing group to discuss your progress, it's very helpful to have a sounding board like that. Good luck!

Yea that's true cause advice from another writer sometimes usually tends to change that writes style and perspective on their characters but I work really hard to keep my style, my style and not a different persons cause then it wouldn't be mine... my own original, you know? right now I'm just trying to wing it, to knowing my characters better there was some site I was on about two years ago when I had first gotten my idea for the book, and it said you should know everything about your characters from traits to dislikes to weaknesses and even strengths and so on and so forth...and I know what your thinking two years and it's still not finished wow...well yea I was a full time college student and had a full time job so I didn't really have time for my book when I was always busy trying to fit my job and school in together but I think of it like this it gave me a chance to get scenes in for my book that I didn't have the idea for back then and I now have a whole binder full of short ideas and short scenes I liked and now I just have to go through them and say ok well how long is this book going to be? and how do I connect this to this? or do I really need this? or does it make sense to me?...but now I have time to finish my book and take things out and put other things in and more scenes and figure out how to get it down on paper cause I don't start the new semester for college until this spring and I really don't have a great job anymore so I have loads of time...cause I took last year off of school so now I just want to get it down on paper and then from there figure out the next steps to getting published.

walk away from it and leave it for a bit. also, jot down ideas somewhere else. if you dont put too much pressure on yourself, the ideas will come.

First, all you have to do is to take a break, 2 to 3 days without thinking about your novel. Erase...erase it first, do the things that you like it most...your hobbies. When your instinct tells you to start again, then that's the time to proceed. But, first revive yourself from reality to fantasy, get it through browsing the net. There's a lot of lines over there that you can start of. Then, reenter into the fantasy world where your characters played. Or, start again from the beginning until you patch up your characters to resume the story. Hope this can help you.
