Rude Valets

Here's the Scenario:
My friend went to the valet to retrieve her car but before she could give them her ticket, she noticed that the valet was giving her car to someone else. Thankfully, she knew the other person and they recognized the car as hers. So they all told the valet he made a mistake and that was my friend's car he was about to give to someone else (thank goodness it wasn't a stranger). Instead of apologizing, the valet gets an attitude, basically says he doesn't care and throws the keys to my friend before walking away.
I couldn't believe that someone who's income is based on tips would treat their clients that way. He made a mistake but instead of admitting it and apologizing- which would be the normal reaction you would think- he gets an attitude.
Have you ever encounter something like this before?

I do not endorse the rude behavior of the valet, but only request you to consider the rough-edge on which he might be going through.
YOU are very right . .that a person of such jobs lives only on tips provided by the patrons. If most of the guests that evening have been rude with him, not leaving anything, not properly providing him with the tips,... he might have gone over the limits.
unfortunately, your friend came just at that moment. I wish, one is always kind with people doing such lowly jobs.

You make a point. Being a valet is probably a really thankless job where you have to deal with a lot of personalities. I just wish he wouldn't take out his aggravation on an innocent person.
