On the news, U.S. post office lost revenue of over 8 billion dollars. Many job posts were eliminated, and we would need to use envelop and stamp less and less. Because we have this advantage from our banks provide bill pay option, and other electronic transaction available. It is fast and convenient. In our daily life, we have eliminate the need of envelope and stamp a lot due to the existence of internet. So, should we blame on the invention of internet? Majority of businesses nowadays are going for paperless, and we want to go for theme of "Green". So, what we have done mostly is in the internet of our computers now.

If technology and private parcel services have made the USPS obsolete, so be it. The only reason private companies haven't taken the 1st class letter or mass mailing market is, the government has banned it. The USPS has had a good run, but $8 billion in losses is a good reason to either clean it up, or just end it.

I think technology is somewhat to blame, but you also have to look at the competition. Besides just envelopes, there are boxes that are sent through the USPS. They have several competitors including ups and fedex. Going green is good in theory, but if you look at it, shopping online you have to have stuff shipped, that is a boost to the shipping industry.

Lets us study how many jobs were lost as a result of the advent of the net.Similarly how much invest was made on the net and how many jobs were created. If the balance is towards net business i wouldn't blame the net.If on the other hand it hasn't created adequate opportunities i would tilt towards post office.

They should be the one blaming the computers and the internet cuz their business is going down. I don't blame technology. I like what they've done. Less use of paper, less cutting of trees.

Between computers, at home printers, cell phones, black berry's, outsourcing, fax machines, automation and crooks there are no jobs here. All the jobs are in India, where there is no retirement program. It was predicted back in the 70s that with the advent of computers there would be no room for anyone less than a manager. Here we are.

There is always an advantage and disadvantages of this modern era with new technologies that we can not avoid. Things are getting easier and convenient for us,while job elimination suffers too. But this is reality,we can never avoid it from growing into a higher expectation. People are even expecting more technology that will make their life more easier in terms of convenience and luxuries. We must learn to adapt things that we are used to,and expect the unexpected. have a good day always

No matter what the human venture, there appear to be times when a debate over new technology arises, and the words "Technology has left too far!" ring out across the land. From sports to social values, ideologies and norms, technology is often noticed as the beast which challenges all of the traditions and endeavors of human beings to stay true to their goals as human beings or to give way to and serve the demands of technology.
