It's kind of a hard question to answer. It depends on which category you go to. I usually play in the politics threads, but they get very heated, and it becomes more of a link war, and try to prove me right/wrong situation. Some people can be very stubborn in that thread.
I like discussions where I learn something new, and can actually utilize what I have learned. I can't think of a specific offhand, but in some cases, I have taken something that someone said here, and researched it further.
I stumbled into a discussion about Bill Ayers, and I started researching him, and Vietnam, and Monsanto's involvement in Vietnam. My current obsession is Monsanto, because I want to find out just how deep they go. They pop up everywhere, in random intervals, like, they did some things just blatantly wrong, which was documented in both "The Future of Food", and "The Corporation".
So, if I had never been interested in 'Nam, I would have never researched Monsanto, but I have a lot more to learn about them.
And, I sometimes youtube some things, and recently found a new love for Bill Maher. I loved his movie, but now I am watching excerpts of his shows. He is boss.
Welcome to mylot!
