I am a student from an university which not really very well known in around the world. but, sometimes in every university or each university, particularly in the campus, we have a lot of same problems that we get from the lecturer. for example, in my class grammar class, if we don't listen carefully, or we don't pay attention with what the lecturer explained, the lecturer will include us to a black list of student who are very strange. and finally, we just get the value D or E in the subject which related to the lecturer who teach us. in other hand, we won't pass the subject. That is a big problem to us.
So, if you want to get a good result, you must listen carefully about what the lecturer say. be a good listener. okay...

yes, but that's only the start. You have to be an active listener. Your mind has 4 times the capacity of what you are hearing from an average speaker. It is therefore very easy for your mind to wander -)

Hi Ontenjuliantini and welcome to my lot. You are so right it is a good thing to forget everything and listen to what is being said. That way you know excatly what you are responding too and will get better grades. Good luck on your studies!

I agree. Being a good listener solves many problems. Being a poor listener results to a lot of misunderstanding. However, listening is not an easy work nowadays, when everything seems to be instant and everybody is always in a hurry to say something or do something else.

Hi Ontenjuliantini,You do have to be a good listener but remember that we all have dfferent learning preferences - some people by hearing, others by reading, some by practical work and most probably we all use a combination. And be aware your understanding is also in part down to the capability of the Lecturer. I am now a director of a management consultancy but remember well studying my under-graduate degree, particularly one lecturer that arrived in class, read his notes then left.
So, if you want good results, listen, read, test your understanding and if that doesn't help the ask...
