I guess they have more interesting lives than most people, and a lot of people are really interested in hearing what they do all day...

I don't think Twitter is just for celebrities.. It is for everyone.. But the main problem is that people don't understand microblogging as much they understand social communities like Facebook and Myspace.. Many people wonder why they should use Twitter. But Twitter is great for people who have a business or website to promote.. In fact, I think Twitter is more powerful social media marketing tool than Facebook. Because, Facebook is more used for personal purpose while Twitter is more used for professional purpose.. All the popular websites, companies and individual who to any kind of things like blogging, content writing, freelancing etc have Twitter accounts to promote their work. So, I think Twitter is actually less applicable to celebrities.. I have seen useful posts in other Twitter accounts while I see posts regarding what they had for dinner and where they went for walking yesterday etc in celebrity accounts.. Twitter accounts of celebrities are not really much useful unless you are a very crazy fan of them and want to know what they have to share..

I don't think so. Everybody can take advantage of a website like Twitter. It is easy for each other to know the latest news. Actually lately I joined a website similar with Twitter and I like read the short posts from it sometimes. I love China

I have a twitter account too. But I don't use it as much as I use facebook and other social networking sites. It seems twitter is more advantageous to celebrities. Besides, most of my friends don't even have a twitter account. Also, if you really want to optimize your use of twitter, you need to be online all the time to really enjoy it.

Well, not just celebrities, but can be used for business too. But on personal accounts? I don't think so. I mean why would anyone want to know what someone is doing. I already hate it when my friends in facebook is doing that! I mean, who cares if you are sleepy, or eating a banana, or going to school, or going to fart (excuse me for that!) just posting everything they are doing. Now if that is a celebrity posting that on their twitter account, it will be a lot more interesting!

No, I think it can be a great way to market websites and articles and probably a bunch of other things too. I write articles for Bukisa and Shvoong and I post links to them on Twitter, and I also link to my blog posts there, and it gets me some readers, although I don't have huge amounts of followers or anything. So it works for me! And I am sure it would work even better for me if I just put some more effort into it.
