I have recently purchased an e-book reader, I am in the process of reading my first book using this medium, I am unsure as to whether I can state name and model here so perhaps others can advise me.
My early indications were, "this is nothing like holding or reading a book," but I quickly got accustomed to this new way of reading and am now enjoying the story.
So the pros and cons, well the pros, or good points for me are.
(1) the ease of holding, I find some books difficult to hold open, especially if the are new and the force required after a while hurts my hands. With the e-reader this is not a problem for me and the e-reader is much lighter then a standard book.
(2) No need for a book mark.
(3) Ease of use, mine uploads books easy and quick, I have managed to upload over 700 titles
Cons
(1) Battery life, my e-reader gives up to two weeks use, this may extend as it is still new and I find the battery life is getting better with each re-charge,at the moment I do not have a charger and have to rely on my computer to re-charge.
(2) Cost, at $199ca not cheap, if you are down at the beach and your book gets stolen or lost you can always buy it again, loose your e-reader and your out a pretty penny, suppose it would be a good idea to get it on the insurance.
So I would be interested on how other people view these machines is the book as we know it doomed

I never experience to use e-book reader, but i want to have one, My professor foretold that in 4 - 6 years time, all schools were required the students to have a e book reader. It is a portable library of your favorite books,
