Do you listen to music at your work?

Hi Paul, In my case, it depends on two things - 1. What type of Job I am currently on - This is the most important. We all have times when delivery of services on time and with quality is needed. These are the times when I have to concentrate on work and so would not want any distraction. But when going is easy then I take the liberty if a. there are no official restrictions, b. my cop-workers are not getting distracted. 2. The second is what type of music is playing - I love soft numbers and instrumentals and they take me in. So I have no choice but stay away from them when doing a serious task. Then there are others that I cannot bear to hear... so even if they are playing during my leisure, I dont care to listen... Point here is that if you are comfortable and your organization (more specifically your job) allows then there is nothing wrong in listening to anything you feel like. Cheers, theSids.

Sometimes i listen to music at my work, I think it is good for work, but my boss do not think so.

I listen to it when I am studying and when I think of certain characters from the books I read.

We have a (horrible) radio station at work. It does cause me to hate my job when all I can think is NO! I hate this song! So that does hamper my work...however, when I have worked other places that play tolerable music I do better. It makes me happy to have good music playing and I will work harder and better...while jamming out! :)

Yes, I listen to music when I'm at work. It helps me concentrate and relax when I'm under pressure. I listen to it with my headphones. There are times when I get sleepy at work that I would start listening to rock songs to awaken my sleepy mind.

Yes, it relaxes mefor every call I made.

we have the radio online on when we are at work. it plays music but it doesnt interfere with our work at all.

I am not working yet, but yes I do listen to music a whole lot. But, only when I am studying though or there is nothing to do.

im still a student, so technically i dont listen to music at work hehe:) but whenever i do my homeworks and projects at home, i do listen to music all the time except when im trying to study on my lessons because it only distracts me.

yes, we do... but not to loud to distract us.. just a mellow music that serves as our background. it eases our stress fom work. and make us feel alive, when afternoon comes....

yes i always listen music in my work it doesn't interfere my work, i just turn it off when im talking to a client..
