what is the longest amount of time you can work at the same place?

what is the longest amount of time you can work at the same place? i mean they cant give you a raise forever. Spending 6 years at a job and learn only the things that is used at your job and later on after 6 years you try hunting for another one, your just so used to the job now its going to be so hard to move on....

so far i only work for 3 months in a specific company because none of them that i found worth the investment of my time and i had to travel after 3 months. those were just short term goals and jobs.

My grandfather worked at a mill for 53 years. They were always going through new managers so there were many changes.
