I know that I haven't loved football from the beginning. As a matter of fact I have hated it, but because my brother was so fanatical about it, he made me to play football with him and I began loving it and now I am more fanatical than him. So what made you to love this wonderful game? let me know

I too hated the game previously, and cannot understand the fuss about it. However one particular match change my opinion and make me embrace it. The match was between Liverpool and Arsenal in 1989. A background to this match. It was the last match of the season. Liverpool was top and Arsenal second. Arsenal had the chance to leapfrogged the reds and end their 18 years wait for the title if they could win the match with a 2-0 victory. In those days, Anfield was a fortess and it was very rare for opposition to come to Anfield and leave with a victory, let alone a 2-0 win. A 2-0 victory Arsenal did get. But it was dramatic, as they scored their second goal in basically the last few seconds of the season. Having watched the game live, I experience first hand, the thrill, the emotional roller coaster and joy it brings when the team you support won the game. From that on, soccer became my favorite sports till now. And my favorite team, yes you guess it right, Arsenal.

What an interesting story. But I have to say that you missed out the feeling of that victory, which I think that cannot be repeated. I mean that, although it had a great impact on you, but you weren't a fan already, to be over thrilled by that goal. It was the opposite of what I have experienced in 1999 in the Champions League final against Manchester, being a Bayern fan. And almost the same as in 2001, when Schalke was already celebrating the Bundesliga title, when Patrick Andersson scored the equalizing goal against Hamburg in the 95th minute, making Bayern champions. What memories were those, I will never forget them. Those cursed last minutes from Barcelona and those blessed last seconds from Hamburg.

My boys! I have 2 step-sons that play high school football and I didn't miss but 1 game! I never even liked football before this. Then my 7 yr old joined peewee football and his team out of like 5 other peewee teams ranked #1 and got a huge trophy as well as all the boys getting their own trophy and a picture in the paper! My 5 yr old played flag football. I don't think this sport was for him though. I am one of the parents who will get up in the stands and scream and holler and make all kinds of noise! I love football now and actually get into watching it on tv. I am starting to learn the different plays and positions. I can't wait until next football season!

I think you are referring to the American football, but that is okay. It is nice that you cheer your sons and go to stadium to watch them play. I am sure that they are extra motivated when hearing you screaming.

I have always played football. I didn't really have anything to do, so I just spent my time on playing football. In 2002, when there was world cup in South Korea and Japan, I got really fascinated by watching the game, and since that time, I've just loved to play it, and watch it.

I see. It means that you have started to love football at the same age as I did, although I played since I can remember. I started to watch it only from 97-98, but I have played it since I was very little, because my brother has took me with him when he was playing with our friends and I started then. If I enjoyed it or not, I don't really know, but according to my parents, I only played football because I wanted to be like my brother.
