Issue with some sort of popups, need help

I'm an active Facebook user and lately I've been dealing with a rather annoying popup issue at the bottom right of my screen.
I found out yesterday that it's called ChameleonTom. I can't find it on my computer, and virus scans and the like didn't reveal it to me.
I know someone on Facebook who has the same problem and she couldn't figure out how to remove the program because it didn't exist anywhere.
So the question is, how do you remove a program that leaves no trace of itself on your computer?

That seems like one of those downloads you get for doing offers...
Rule of Thumb: Never download those things. Ever.
Anyway, the surefire way to get rid of that virus is to reformat your computer. Of course, there may be important stuff in it.
It may be an app in Facebook. Check if CT is there, and disable it.

I checked my apps, but there's nothing there.
And I don't download things anymore. I learned my lesson a couple of years ago when I had to reformat this system and lost everything I had on it.
