When you do the math on an SAT, does it matter how you work out the problem, or does it not matter how you work out the problem as long as you get the right answer?

Since it is multiple choice, only filling in the correct circle is all that matters. However, sometimes, they might throw in an answer that would trip you up for not using the right method, as it might produce the wrong result. But if you select the correct answer, then it doesn't matter if you guess, use the stars, listen to the voices in your head, or use the proper math technique.

I also believe that even you are handling the questions that you have to solve the exact values, you can also use some methods whose processes are inaccurate, like using specific numbers to substitute variables or parameters. Just be careful that it does not affect the answer.
