I am Asian and in my country most people are accustomed to using the fork and the spoon. And when these things are not present, we use our hands in eating. It's more enjoyable to eat with your hands if the meal is composed of a rice, grilled pork or sea foods and we dipped it in soy sauce or fish paste with calamansi or calamondin.

I understand what you mean because I'm also Filipino, yes it's already summertime and most of us would be going to the beach or the pool for our yearly outings, yeah so nice to bring along those foods you mentioned, so different when eaten with the hand and eating it on sterilized banana leaves (done by heating over a flame)instead of a plate and spread all over the cottage table for everyone to enjoy

I prefer chopsticks when I eat noodles. I use hands when the "ulam' is 'tuyo' or 'sugpo' or crab or lobster. Otherwise, I use spoon and fork.
