did you ever experienced a feeling that you have been in a place where actually in real life you haven't been there. That's Deja vu. Actually before I always experienced that kind of feeling, specially the first time I went to a classmates house, surroundings seems familiar and the event that is just happening were like things that already happened, then one us will just say "it seems like it already happened". It's difficult to understand, maybe there are things that already occurred in our dreams before it occur in real life. I just don't know, it's just my personal opinion. How about you? How do you understand Deja vu? Did you experienced that before?

Deja vu is an experience or feeling you think you have had before. It is a sign from the past that is now in the present. sometimes we blame deja vu for just a mere coincidence in life.

I often experience that. Most often I can connect it to my dreams. From time to time, I write down my dreams specially if I feel that it seems to have meaning or message. Most recently is when a friend of my offered me a job. I felt something familiar with the situation that I can not fully place it. I checked my dream journal and there it is, over a year ago, I had a dream that I was working for this friend of mine. I actually wrote his name on my journal. :)

Scientific clarification for explaining Deja Vu is actually different. It is that there are pathways and area in the brain which try to set up connections with known experiences. You may have been in some place very similar and similar situations and your brain tries to unite, causing the Deja Vu feeling. They have tried to use hypnosis to test this theory and attained questionable results.

You're right, that is something you think you have already expirienced. Or maybe you think this has happened already but it actually hasn't. Maybe your mind makes connections with similar moments or feeling or something like that. Well that's what I think actually. I have expirienced it many many times. It's really strange and after it happens I'm so confused that I need some time to start hearing and seeing things around me. It's like I've just been to another world. People's mind is hard to understand..

Even I get such dreams which often related to me some or the other way. The way I get dreams which are scary it leaves a very heavy feeling in me which takes a long time to go out of my memory. Always I dream about nature such as river, mountain, greenery, etc. etc. I dont know what way it is related but these dreams leave a feeling in me, good and bad as well.I wonder why do such dreams come is there any familiarity about this is my past life

Hi mayrah I have experienced [deja vu] many times [but then I Am not a young girl any more] I even have it in my dreams! I do believe they are memories from a past we have lived before and I actually enjoy the experience [ you probably think you poor senile old thing!] it's gives me a glimpse of what I was and the places I have lived in my other lives! I do find your discussion very interesting! we actually have similar discussions with family and friends and I Am sad to say some people are very sceptical about it. But then I guess each one to their one.

The concept of DeJa Vu means already seen its also know as paramnesia and promnesia. It is the experience being sure that you have witnessed or experienced a certain event before. This has also been used in the MATRIX movie as the computer reconfiguring the data. There are several theories that I know of about Deja Vu these are: 1. Premonition - meaning you have previous knowledge that you would be there to experience that event. Some believe that this is part of you fulfilling your destiny. 2. Subconscious - some believe that is the effect of your subconscious that assumed that this would be a place or an event you would experience and informs you in advance through dreams and recollections. This would assume you are a very intelligent person and your subconscious is able to predict possible future events through past experiences (THIS IS WHAT I WANT IT TO BE!) hahaha 3. Similar Event - Some say that you are just recalling a similar event that your body perceives as the same event, meaning your mind is not able to differentiate the events that transpired in the past and the current one thats why you have a feeling that you have experienced it before. In this theory, after you feel you had deja vu, you will suddenly recall similar evnts in your past. Of course there are other theories out there so maybe the others in myLot can enlighten us more!

it is the experience of feeling sure that one has already witnessed or experienced a current situation, even though the exact circumstances of the previous encounter are uncertain and were perhaps imagined. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/D%C3%A9j%C3%A0_vu i have experienced it a couple of times. i wonder if there is a person who doesnt.

They're all correct. That's also my definition of deja vu. The feeling of something that already happened in the past. It's funny sometimes. It also happened to me that a part of my dream happened to me. Deja vu always happen to me before, but I don't encounter it much lately.

Well, well, I've also had the same exact experience like you. You see, when I was in middle school, my friend invite me over to his house and as I joined in conversation and activities, something about it seemed really familiar. I've also had this one dream where I go run out all around my cousins yard, and stock upon there house at midnight. This dream doesn't seem to be Deja Vu, but I guess the repetition of it playing in my mind has increased. Its really difficult why the brain and mind encounter these real life scenarios before hand. Its quite strange like you said.

I think I have seen this before .... Popular society refers to Déjà vu all the time, and for many unexplained phenomena. Unfortunately, all the popular folk lore built up about it, like in movies, is not Déjà vu at all, but instead commonly Precognition. The world seems to insist on accepting the contents of popular movies and TV shows, which causes immense confusion in all of this.. Scientists say that deja vu is actually not real. They say it happens when one eye lid closes a split second slower than the other one so you are getting the image twice therefore you feel like you actually have experienced it already. Enjoy time , that is if you have not been here before ..

In the 9th grade the students from my school joined a work experience programme where we had to work for one week. I was interested in working with children and I choose a to join a daycare mother for one week. One of my brother's friends had a mother who was a carecare mother, I asked her if I could join her for one week and she said yes. I knew my brother's friend, but I had never met his mother before or seen their house. The first day when I was playing with the children in the indoor playground I had a very, very strong feeling of deja vu. I was so sure that I had been there before and that I had been doing exactly the same things before, but I know that it was impossible, because I never seen the house before and I had never been there before. The feeling of deja vu was so strong that it made me wonder if I had been in the house before and forgotten all about it. That was the only explanation that I could think about, but I know it isn't true. I had never been there before...

Well, it happens, yeah, when you go to somewhere you never went to before, & you say, wow, it's like i already know this place. Scientists say that human mind tend to make every place or everything we see something we see it before, human mind compares new environment or objects with the ones stored in our consciousness, or unconsciousness, to make it more adaptable for us. That's why there is some people who never get amazed when seeing new places, LOL, their minds make it so familiar to them where as in reality, they never been there or even had dreams look like such places.
