We can't help who we're related to.

Friends we can choose. Family is another manner. Most of my family is great. Still there a couple of relatives, distant but still I count them that are a bit odd to say the very least. It just causes me to shake my head a lot of the time. Do you have family members that make you just want to just shake your head?

Yeah I know some people who really feel uncomfortable with their parents at times. I used to but I've either matured or they have, I can't really figure out which. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

I think we all have family members like that somewhere. Well they don't act like that all of the time. But they do have their moments. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

You are right there that you can chose your friends, but never your relations, lol.I think that there have been a few times that i have not wanted to admit to a person that was related to me,as they have a really bad name and i am nothing like them in the slightest.lol.

I think it is hard to believe that we are related to some of the people that they are. Then again, personalities can be so drastically different. Even with close blood relations. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

In Law problems, is all too common I think with most people. There are some rough patches that one might have to get through before they reach that level of coexisting. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

I really do think that everyone has family members that make them shake their head at. Yes regardless they are your family but it still have those relatives that you just dont understand what they were thinking. But I'm sure alot of my relatives shake their heads at me to it's only normal for people to do stuff that no one else understands.

Yes indeed family is family. Although they can tend to lead to some awkward moments for that fact alone. Then again, would you really care what they did if you did not care about them? Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

Well I totally agree with the saying "you can choose your friends but not your family". I always see others having great relationships with their parents and taking part in many familial activites together and I can only wish my situation was the same. On average, I say around a few sentences to my parents when I get home and sometimes I won't have talked to them for days especially my Dad. I've tried to make conversation many times but it just seems like they're not interested so I've just given up and we continue living as if we were strangers sharing a house (well possibly that's going a bit too far).
But the relative I'd want to shake my head at most is my Gran. She's so narrow minded and makes ignorant comments about immigrants, teenagers and obese people regularly.

It is really bothering when family members act in such a way. We want to think better of them. But they do make it hard from time to time. It is a shame when families drift apart due to such differences in opinion. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.
