Why are people so amazed with this serie "Friends"

I live in England too and I love it! Probably the only american programme except from The Simpsons that I actually like. It's just that after the years of episodes, you get so attached to the characters and you able to relate to them quite often so your experiences are heightened when watching them. After watching the last episode around 6 times, I still get quite emotional watching it because "it felt like the end of era" - (friends reference there =). Also, it's funny, Chandler is hilarious!! I don't find many American programmes funny because they have such a different humour to British humour but Friends have a sarcasm and irony that you would only expect in a British sitcom.

I like the show, I think the characters are great, and some of the actors are really amazing. But I guess you need to watch it for a while, so that you get to know the characters in order to appreciate it. And if you see it now, it does not seem so modern I guess, but it was really unique when it came out. That said, I do love Desperate Housewives too! It's also a really great show!
