Such tragedies would make no sense if we only lived once and there was no God!

"Dad of girls drowned by mom 'haunted' by image By Allison Jones, The Canadian Press BARRIE, Ont. - The image of his two young daughters struggling to breathe as their mother held their heads underwater in the bathtub will haunt Leo Campione for the rest of his life, court heard Wednesday. His ex-wife, Elaine Campione, was convicted of two counts of first-degree murder for killing Serena, 3, and Sophia, 19 months. The jury took nearly a week to decide that mental illness did not prevent Campione from knowing it was wrong to drown her children, as the defence had suggested." http://ca.news.yahoo.com/s/capress/101117/national/sisters_killed Such tragedies would make no sense if we only lived once and there was no God! They only make sense if there is a God who will bring the dead back to life and there is a better future life. What do you think?

what...she was able to do that to her own children? it breaks my heart just thinking about this topic. I still believe in God, and He has reasons, he gave us own will and mind to think about our actions, He gave us freedom, it is just sad because some people do not use that freedom for good.

There was a video clip on the news of a tape she had made explaining why she had killed her children. I'm not her judge but it seems that her life and mind was pretty messed up. I'm sure that God will deal with all in fairness and justice and I leave things in his hands.

It's very human to feel that everything has to make sense. But it really doesn't.

It makes perfect sense to me without any kind of god or higher power. For that matter, I would imagine such things would make far less sense if I believed in some kind of grand master puppeteer.

Not puppeteer but a grand purposer of better things than rebellious mankind could ever produce. The world is full of insane people where at a moment's notice they are willing to slaughter one another.

It's all the same, just semantics. I don't believe in it.

The human body most certainly does not have the capacity to live forever. We have extended the human (and animal, by the way) lifespan by learning about disease control, but the very fact that we are susceptible to disease, infection and even simply old age is irrefutable proof that we are not capable of living forever.

Uhm... I think that was supposed to be an example against the existence of God, not in his favor. Or does he enjoy baby killing?

"So let's put the blame upon the ones that are doing the evil" Evil? You said their mother had mental problems. What is evil in that? After all, it is God that gave her mental illness, so practically God contributed to their deaths.

It makes me want to cry my eyes out to imagine to helpless babies going through something like that at anyones hands, but especially their mama. When my grandbaby bumps his head or chokes on something he's put in his mouth, I can't get to him fast enough to relieve his stress or hold him and comfort him to let him know it's ok. I guess that's the only thing I can think of that could make sense, because nothing else does. God bless those children and the loved ones. And let's hope that mama was insane. I don't want to think anything else than that.

Who else but an insane person would kill her children? God will bring back those children in a better world where they will be loved as they should. In the meantime we can take comfort in this future promise of our merciful, loving and just God. Isaiah 11:6-9 (New International Version) 6 The wolf will live with the lamb, the leopard will lie down with the goat, the calf and the lion and the yearling[a] together; and a little child will lead them. 7 The cow will feed with the bear, their young will lie down together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox. 8 The infant will play near the cobra’s den, the young child will put its hand into the viper’s nest. 9 They will neither harm nor destroy on all my holy mountain, for the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the LORD as the waters cover the sea.

Yes, Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. So most people will get a second chance at living life right when God's kingdom come to rule the earth. Those two innocent children will live again when God takes over the rulership of the earth in the near future. I continue to pray for that glorious kingdom to come and to come soon!
