My cousin, when she was in stress, when tends to shop a lot in the mall. She might spend a lot of money on those clothing she doesn't need, or she maybe dress it for only one time. That is a lot of waste I think. I would suggest her to eat a lot. I heard a female co - worker talk about this topic from a magazine, eating might be another way to venting a female stress from work or daily life. So, if there is an option, eating might be the best option. But the dilemma will be, most females afraid of to be fat. What is your option?

haha..yes, i usually do this. There was a time when i really got stressed that i bought something very expensive just to ease my tension. It was quite relaxing at first, but then i realized i really didn't need it that much.

I could buy what we need and nothing can beat me back. so you get the confidence and everything is okay.

I do both, eat and shop. It is really a stress reliever and believe me, every woman does need to take a break sometimes and do her own way to have fun. If you think shopping would be indulging, then skip it and just eat the food you want especially when you are at home. But if you are really frustrated and down low, go out of the house so that your mind would not think about the problem and just do window shopping or dine out, that will really help.

Most women i know, including myself, tend to eat a lot when they are filled with stress. it just seems to ease the tension more. the bigger the stress factor, the more we consume. it makes the problems seem less than they are. Shopping afterward is always a good way to move past the stress and enjoy life once again!

haha, what you listed the ways of easing stress is really happening everywhere. especially for some lady or girls. I don't think it is a good way to relax. we can find some other ways too. not only these. luckily, i am not a lady. i can never meet this and do it in this way.

Hi! Maybe for some but for me I love food and shopping and I'm not stressing a bit. I can also say that I only choose what I want to eat and not pig out. I also only buy things I need, if I splurge it would only be on small things that are inexpensive.

Woman are more found of shopping but when thy are stressed out to come out of it they listen a lot to music or have lot of spicy food or go out for shopping which will divert their mind and helps to come out of it. even doing yoga & meditation gives us a good relief to our mind

That is true that most of the woman likes to spend when they are stress, and they will buy a lot of useless stuff that they will never want to use, they just want to spend and spend to release their stress.

There are some ways to get stress from life and work rid of our life. The two options metioned above maybe not the best way.First, throwing so much money on shopping is a waste, eating too much may get fat, leading to not have a slim figure. The best way, maybe join in some activities with friends, like games, sports, climbing etc.

When I stress a lot because of school (not work) or personal life, I tend to go shopping for clothes, more than I eat but that is just my personal opinion and me it varies between people though.

I don't want to get fat, and I don't want to waste money, either. If I am stressed,I will do something to exhaust myself, doing exercises, cleaning the house,or just hanging out on the street without buying anything. When I feel tired,I won't think of anything,no matter it is good or bad, and I will stop worrying.

If I am distressed, I will do both. Since I don't have money, I only eat a lot. I find shopping relaxing. If I have money I'll shop everyday. But I can only afford food. I am not afraid to get fat. I eat more than 3 meals a day, but I have the same weight. I don't know why.

Interesting topic, haha. I get stressed out a lot myself, mostly because my work involves forex trading and I'm under a great deal of pressure on a daily basis. To unwind, I usually go to the mall and go window shopping. I used to go on shopping sprees every time I got stressed, but I found this to be too expensive for a stress-relieving activity. Sometimes I get massages to, which seem to do the trick, but then stress just comes back to haunt me. I'd rather opt to spend some money on items that I can keep, rather than on food or massages whose effects just don't last. Well, actually, the effect of food does last. You know what they say... A moment on the lips, a lifetime on the hips! And that's precisely why I try to avoid binging when I'm stressed. Any suggestions on how to manage stress more productively? Maybe going to the gym is a good alternative. What do you think?

I'm a woman, but this isn't true of me and not true of a lot of women I know. When I'm stressed I like to find something more productive to do than simply eat or go shopping. Instead, I like to read or write or watch television. I don't sit around being afraid of getting fat. Actually, I like to exercise and that is also a great way of getting rid of stress or making a stressful situation better. I think eating in general is a bad way to cope with stress, but yeah, it happens. haha. And both men and women have a problem with doing things like that.

When I get stressed, I talk to myself, write long ranting tirades in my diary or on my computer, or listen to pounding music. I'm a cheapskate, so I don't do stress shopping. And, I find my appetite leaves when I'm stressed or in a bad mood. We women are such varied creatures, that to only come up with one alternative to shopping underestimates us greatly. There are so many other things you could suggest besides eating. Does she like exercise? What about jogging to relieve stress? Watching silly movies? Listening to music? Writing in a diary? People say writing is a great stress reliever. I'm sure there are many other options.

In my personal view, which comes from years of spending time with sisters and girl friends, they usually eat lots of food in stress. Then after about two days they decide to make it up by going to the gym and eating lots of vegetables. There diets are altered immediately to prevent fat from adding up, but as stress grows they talk it out with their confidants. There views toward such tense situations do get better with socialization, as they eat less after verbalizing it off. There are two many woman that I'm leaving out, and I think this case may not stand true for them. Anyways, this is my personal view off women, stress and eating.

ha ha ,I had the same problem! My roommates and I are shouting"I;m gonna lose weight"all day and sometimes we didn't really mean it!but you know everyone, especially the girls are eager to have a good figure!I do like to buy many clthes which I thought will make me more confident!Almost every girl want to be princess!Sometimes I buy cloth and wear it only once, which not because I like wasting money,it's just that at that time I thought I'm beatiful when I'm in that dress! So why don't persuade her from the point of figure or beauty? You could say"eating will do good to your delicate skin , figure or something like that!
