This subject is very hot somewhere else and I'll also put some points here just to heat up the atmosphere ... No. We don't have the right to take someone's life... At least the Christians not.. Death is not a hard enough punish for those guys......it will be like an escape from the punishment.....so you've killed him, then what.....noooo, let him suffer in solitude for the rest of his natural life. -I think they appeal a lot more yes,its in the human nature not to want to die. -Everybody fights for their freedom and life. It doesn't matter what sentence you get. -And when do you really know a person is guilty? -That's what courts, criminology and criminal medicine are for. I don't have to know, they do. -The criminals in countries that have DP will get more violent as they have nothing to lose. -Give me a break... that's just plain stupid :)) -Are you agree with that? -Absolutly not. Killing people on purpose is murder. -...and should be punished with death ;) -A question to ask yourself. If someone kill your friend will you be happier if he will be in the electirc chair? It will not give your friend back. If you say "yes" anyway Im just curious to know how you are thinking. The only way is forgiveness and time to heal wounds. But I understand if that seems to be impossible for most "humans". -No, of course it will not bring my friend back. But it is a sure way to keep other people being hurt by the murderer. Once an animal tastes blood, it can never go back. so justice = vengeance? An eye for an eye, right? If 2 criminals are declared innocent, we can assume that they will continue their illegal activities. If both of them are murderers, presumably in the long term they will kill a number of people. If 2 criminals are killed by capital punishment, we avoid the deaths of a number of innocent people. If the cost of such an action is the death of only 1 innocent man, capital punishment is perfectly rational.
