The ads are pretty shocking! Do you think they will work?

The cigarette companies are putting ads on the packs in the next few years. Pictures of patients succumbing to lung cancer, babies surrounded in a cloud of smoke.. the list goes on. I wonder if these will actually work, since many people (like my father ) are truly addicted. For him, even a diagnosis of emphysema has made him stop. What do you think?

I think all it will accompish is creating a new fad of collecting the packs.

I've seen the pictures..I hope it might make the upcoming generation of future smokers take notice and think before they light that first one up. I do not think it will do much good for those already addicted. Times are different now. We know the dangers and some do not seem to be affected by the knowledge. I do believe the new labels will help in prevention though, or at least, a mom, I hope.

There's nothing wrong if they put more horrid images on packs but I don't think it would stop those who are already addicted to nicotine to change their habits. But it might just work to those wanting to be a smoker who are not yet addicted. At least they've been warned.
