Stuck going from house to house during the holidays?

It's not wrong for you to want to relax and enjoy the holidays rather than running around. I only have my mom, my husband and my sister (and sometimes my father) and holidays are usually pretty much up in the air. Sometimes we all go to my mom's and my sister or I cook a meal. Sometimes we go out to a high class restaurant together. Most of the time my husband has to work on holidays so we do something just the two of us either before or after. Like for Thanksgiving this year I'm going with my mom to go visit her family out of state, so I made Thanksgiving dinner for my husband today since I'm leaving Saturday.

I'm like you I just want to be home and that is what I have been doing for the past 25 years at least. I cook for my family and extended family. This year I will have my signifcant others family only because I'm now living in Puerto Rico. I will be cooking for all of them and then relaxing in front of the TV. I hate to travel on holidays its just to much traffic and running around that just doesn't suit me at all.

There is nothing at all wrong with not wanting to visit with all of the members of your family during the holidays, I know that it is definitely something that can really wear you down. Last year was the first year that we were able to celebrate at our own house and I absolutely loved it. However, I really wish that we would have been able to spend the whole day at home instead of having to still visit with my family and also with Tom's family.

Oh I so remember this a long time ago, and do not miss it for one bit. LOL.. Now with my kids being grown I do not have to worry as now they come by me. So we sit around my house drink, eat great food, listen to music and chat.
