Have you ever tried to count your friends who greeted you a HAPPY BIRTHDAY on your wall post?
How does it feel when someone greeted you on your wall post aside from the fact that it is flattering, overwhelming and grateful that someone remembered your birthday?
How are you related with those people who greeted you on your birthday?
How did you respond them by saying Thank You? Did you just reply “Thank You” to all of them by posting it on your wall or you have other ways to Thank them? Like making something creative?
Because in my case I got 78 greetings and most of them are my high school classmates that are females. Only few males that I’ve received my greetings. Then some of them are my college blockmates, classmates, batchmates, schoolmates, from organization, my relatives, close friends, neighbors, teachers, common friends and the people from America that greeted me on American time. I mean till the next morning I am still receiving greetings since I am from Manila. Even the person that I don’t like right now have also greeted me. Of course it is an overwhelming feeling that someone have a thought for greeting you.
Therefore at first I just clicked the button LIKE as part of my appreciation of greeting me but then I made Thank You greetings which I have drawn in Adobe Illustrator. It was like a brochure type with the pictures of food that we have eaten in our dinner on my birthday.
I also illustrated a woman with wings then decorated some confetti like a party then colored it in violet since that is my favorite color. People appreciated my art that I have done for them. Some responded but there are some who just clicked the button of Like. I’ve also created an artwork from Illustrator for my boyfriend’s Thank You greetings with scorpio on it since that is his zodiac sign. His birthday is actually one week after my birthday.

I have well over 350+ all acquaintances, friends, and family of which I know all personally. I have never counted as to how many have wished me happy birthday, but I can say that it is almost every single person on there.
Although I am not one who initiates much on facebook most of my friends do, so I do get the alerts on my blackberry and it can be overwhelming at times. Thank God my Birthday is only one time a year as it takes me a long time to thank them all.
Funny you mention you and your boyfriends close date birthdays as my boyfriends birthday is only five days after mine. So talk about the number of alerts he gets as he gets all of his and all of my people also wishing him as I do too. So it takes us both a very long time to catch up with each and everyone of them. By the way we both are Libras. So talk about balancing it all. LOL

Hiya HWG,
Are you Libra too so am I and Opal as well. I don´t have that many People I know on Facebook but your List is a challenge to keep up with everyone what fun you must have the pair of you.
You get the alerts on your Blackberry as well wow that would have kept you busy I´d say so. Good thing your Birthday is only once a Year too otherwise you would be answering them forever and ever.

Same here 5 or 6 days after my birthday but then he is not a Libra anymore but the start of scorpio. So what is the date of your birthday? Mine is October 18. And yes Libra is about balancing and the problem with me is that I am measuring almost all the things in any aspects. I am so particular of about being fair or not.
@lovinangelsinstead21: What date is your birthday too? The three of us are libra here now. And yeah regarding the replies there are other people that are not replying individually but they would post generally like saying "Thank You to all those who have greeted me"

Back a couple of months ago, I did get a lot of Birthday greetings and wishes from a lot of my friends on there. Some of them were from people I actually knew, while others were from Game friends I have gotten to know just from the games, etc. It is a Great feeling to know that there are so many people out there wanting to wish you a Happy Birthday and great wishes each day no matter what you are going thru.

Hi there, metatronik! Actually, I haven't counted who greeted me on my birthday, like on FB or anything because I'm grateful whoever greeted me there or personally. As a matter of fact, I hadn't let my birthday show on my profile, so nobody knows, except those who are close to me. They are amazing to even remember it!

I haven't tried counting yet (since my birthday isn't here yet.) but from what I remembered (last year), there are quite a number of people who posted on my wall to wish me Happy Birthday. Of course, I'm kind of shocked to see so many people posting that on my wall. I feel kind of happy... and like you, some of them isn't really close to me. It feels kind of awkward but well, I would still type in "Thank you!" to their posts. I feel bad to actually copy and paste every Thank You to their posts (I think it's kind of insincere of me to do that) so I would try to vary the way I type it.
=)

In my own opinion I think there is nothing wrong if you just copy paste the Thank You. There is actually nothing wrong to be practical especially for time. It is still a matter appreciating their greetings no matter what.

Actually, I was thrilled to share the day with my friends, as my friend list is small. It showed me my friends care about me and it was nice to be in the spotlight one day.

in FB i disclosed my birthday even to friends. so only a few people greeted me on my birthday. it shows who really remembered my birthday, and who greeted me because they saw someone who greeted me.
i tried saying thanks to each one.... but i got lazy hihi! so after a few thanks, i greeted a general thanks to all. :)

Yeah that is actually others doing that they are posting their appreciation generally instead of thanking them individually. Both of it has meaningful appreciated.

Hi Metatronik,
Actually I do not give so much importance that some one wished me on my birth day or presented something. For me it is just a ceremony or a day that would pass off like any other days.
Now face book or other sites, when you have put your birth date this is more likely that one or the other from your friend's list would wish you if at all they are active there as you are.
My B'day falls on Sept 3 and this time I had a couple of friends wishing me all luck on Face book. It feel good when you know that people are there who care to remember the important days in your life.

When it was my birthday on Facebook, I got at least 100 wall posts on my wall saying Happy Birthday and such. I feel happy when people acknowledge my birthday, even when it is online. But, it is also a hassle to write "Thank You's" to all of them! It took me two days to reply and say thanks because I had so many posts on my wall, nevertheless, it was well worth it!

91!
But i think its more a matter of chance. If someone logs on that day and sees its your birthday they'll wish you.

I agree on that but of course it is applicable for those people that are not close to you. The point here is they still have a thought of greeting you even if it is only a chance. Because I would honestly tell you that I don't greet all people that logs on me.

On my last birthday which is by the way in June, i had tons of greetings from relatives, family, friends, old and new ones. It was kind of overwhelming to receive messages on phones, and even on my facebook wall. I thanked every single person who posted something on my wall. I wasn't able to count all of them but it took me an hour or so to thank each one of them. If I were to estimate it, it's about 50 or so. It felt so cool to be remembered even though your facebook friends see that it is actually your birthday on the events panel of their homepage. It's the thought that counts as people say and to take a minute of your time o write a simple greeeting on my wall, that's really something for me. I was happy with all of it.

Well it depends, not necessarily that they are true friends. It is a matter of thoughtfulness or courtesy but not all of them are your real friends. At times there are others that are greeting you but then they are also expecting something back.
