It isn't their original. It is a David Bowie original but have you heard Nirvana's version? Isn't it better than the original? Well I think it is. What's your say about this?
The Man Who Sold The World
We passed upon the stair, we spoke in was and when
Although I wasn't there, he said I was his friend
Which came as a surprise, I spoke into his eyes
I thought you died alone, a long long time ago
Oh no, not me
We never lost control
You're face to face
With The Man Who Sold The World
I laughed and shook his hand, and made my way back home
I searched for a foreign land, for years and years I roamed
I gazed a gazeless stare, we walked a million hills
I must have died alone, a long long time ago
Who knows? Not me
I never lost control
You're face to face
With the Man who Sold the World
Who knows? not me
We never lost control
You're face to face
With the Man who Sold the World

I don't feel I know much about Nirvana to contribute well to this discussion. But, I feel my words about what you described will be useful. There are so many ups and downs in your story that it seems like a modern day show. Many tragedies and awkward situations make the story line, but the main character shows his wit a lot to make him stand out as a cool and brave person. The man is indicative of strength that is wasted by engaging in harmful situations.
