BIOS settings changed after replacing CMOS battery.

I have an 4-year-computer that recently had its system time screwed up. The system time became slow a couple of hours usually after I shut down my pc for several hours or so. I figured that it was due to the CMOS battery becoming weak after 4 years. So I opened up the tower of my pc and removed the battery and took it to the store to get a replacement. The next day I installed the new battery that I bought earlier and turned on my pc. The pc loads successfully with no problem to windows and now the system time never slows down anymore. However, I notice there is something different (weird) when I boot up (turn on) my pc. Before replacing the battery after the POST screen there is usually just a blank black screen before the pc goes to the familiar windows xp blue loading bar. Now after the POST screen there is this weird white loading bar at the bottom screen before my pc goes to windows loading bar. I would like to know if you guys especially computer experts out there ever had the same experience. Is this because the BIOS settings changed when I replaced the battery and what settings would that be? Is this serious and can this damage my PC?

Removing a CMOS battery for more than 5 seconds, or replacing it with a new one, will reset the BIOS to its default settings. There is nothing to worry about because it is normal. I have experienced seeing the white loading bar, and as far as I know it will not damage the PC. at least mine was not damaged in any way.

Do you know what caused the loading bar to appear? Even if it will not damage my computer (thank God), I'm still curious what it is (the specific BIOS setting that caused this).

I am not sure. My conjecture is that it has something to do with Windows which could have written something on the BIOS during its installation. When the BIOS has been reset then it would fail to find it. If I am not mistaken Windows write something in the MBR, so it could be related to this.

If that's the case then if I reinstall/repair the Windows XP OS, this loading bar would be gone, wouldn't it?
