how to open a on line shop?

I wonder how many of you want to open a online shop!I have opened a online shop on Ebay!but the tragedy is that before I earn money from there I have to pay the fees of opening a store !I did't know this before!XMaybe I'm just so ill-informed!So how many of you have opend a online store on Ebay,could give me some suggestion!Do I need to pay if I am to sell things on there ?
