I think that the technology of 3D TV still has to evolve some more for me to decide on getting one. Because at the end of the day, you're just wearing 3D glasses anyway, to enhance the special effects.
Aside from the obvious extra expense of needing more glasses for extra people watching, where is the relaxation associated with watching movies if you still have to wear a contraption on your face.
I'll wait...

I can't think of anything I watch that would be improved by 3D. I don't need to see the characters of the shows I watch jumping out of the screen at me. So, I don't think it would make my viewing experience any more entertaining. So, no, I can't see myself buying one.

I don't have a plan to buy 3D TV yet. First, I am not sure whether today the 3D TV technology is mature or not. Second, it is expensive to buy 3D TV now. Third, there are not more 3D movies and TV shows today. It will be a waste to watch the normal TV program with 3D TV. Fourth, it may be inconvenient to watch 3D TV shows because you have to wear 3D glasses. Since I am near-sighted, so that means to say I have to wear 2 pairs of glasses when I want to watch a 3D movie. If I really want to watch a 3D movie, it's fine for me to go to watch it from the cinema.
I love China

I think the 3D cr@p is going overboard! I've not seen a 3D movie in theaters.. though I did once see one on DVD.. it was that Spy Kids movie. No, not impressive. I actually think it takes away from the enjoyment of the movie when you're paying so much attention to the effects.

I've been to some 3D movies where I don't really feel or experience that uniqueness, the feeling like you're going to be punch, you're in the middle of traffic, or anything.
As far as 3D TVs, not all movies are in 3D. There are still some reputable channels that have not adopted HD technology. Even if I have lots of money to afford one, I would rather wait for couple more years to see how the technology would develop.

I am definitely not interested atleast for the time being. What I am looking for are not the fancy gadgets to view third rated programs and movies. What I am really looking out is great movies and TV programs with good and absorbing content that gives the satisfaction of entertainment. What is the use of a 3d or 4d when the stuff it shows really sucks.A great movies will be always great even in a small black and white TV.

I am not able t see things in 3D. Although I see with both eyes, I primarl see with only one so 3D doesn't matter to me.

I'm so with you on this. It does nothing for me and I just don't think its such a big deal. I have seen the new tv's in the store and its not worth the price in my opinion. I'm happy with the TV I have right now. In fact I really don't even like seeing the 3D movies in the Theater wearing those stupid glasses. I don't understand what the big deal is anyway.

To be honest I agree and disagree. I agree that ticket prices are far too high for 3D movies, but the good thing about 3D TV's is that you don't have to pay extra to watch a movie in 3D at cinema therefore prices will be forced down due to 3D TV purchases. In a few years we won't require the 3D glasses and in 10 years there'll be holo movies.

A pleasant day ersmommy1,
I also noticed that nowadays, that 3D television is now being introduced to the market. After showing and airing some 3D movies, now they started to sell 3D television.
With reference to the above, for me, it is not ideal to sell 3D television, since, this gadget has a high end resolution that can impaired and affect the vision.

Hi ersmommy1
I think that I will keep my four year old TV, because this year it's the 3D TV and what will it be next year!
With the way the economy is, I cannot afford to buy a 3D TV and even if I could afford it I am not interested.
I am like you, "I just don't see the point." Take care and have a wonderful evening.
Take care
Snow

I don't pla on buying one any time soon. first of all, you have to receive a 3D station to even see the shows in 3D. Then, everyone in the room has to watch in 3D or it will look funny to thos enot using the glasses. To me this seems like more of a pain than something enjoyable. I am sure eventually all tv's will have 3D technology but this is not something that I am dying to be on the forefront of.

I really don;t see that much fascination in 3d television. I like it for some movies in the theater. it gives the film an extra special something. I wouldn't care that much about a 3d television though.

i want them but not to the point of craving for them or whatsoever. i like watching in 3d but the price is really high and im not the one making decisions in our home. my parents would just think its a waste of money.

I would want a 3D TV after I buy my first house. This is such a great invention that could only be experience in theaters. Samsung has rolled up its sleeves for quite a long time, but the manufacturer is going to sell there version sometime next year. I bet the prices will be higher than the first premium Blu-Ray players sold on the market. Even if it would cost one month of my MyLot earnings, I would spend it on a 3D TV. There isn't a better way to have a surround sound and opportunistic family experience. That being said, I'm planning to shop around with my family at Best Buy and PC Richards in February to ultimately buy such a TV.
