Does Amazon KIndle offers normal internet browsing?

Apart from providing ebooks to read, does Kindle offer internet browsing such as google, facebook and mylot?

No. Their wireless networking ability only ties into Amazon.com for downloading of more ebooks.

Thanks for the info. I prefer buying nook even though it is a bit expensive than kindle.

It's been my only reluctance to getting the Kindle (and the price is still high - but getting better). I don't like the thought of being tied into Amazon only. IT is supposed to allow you to add your own PDF's though. I am still looking for a thrid party to offer something that will be compatible and not tied to a system. I believe the Nook is the same with Barnes & Noble though
