New Zealand, after 51 for 3 and 86 for 6 were made a mild recovery through injured duo of Jessy Ryder and Brendon Mccullum. Both were denied runners as they carried the injury to the match. Mccullum was unlucky as he got injured just before the toss and could not open the innings after his skipper won the toss and elected to bat first. They lost both their openers on the score of 16 and then lost their star batsman Taylor on the score of 42. Williamson followed with addition of just one run making it 43 for 4. Captain Vettori could not last long making it 51 for 5. Ryder the batsman in form but handicapped with the calf injury added another 31 runs when Hopkins was out on the score of 82. The 2 injured duo came together at this stage and added 42 runs before Ryder was out on the score of 124 at his personal score of 59. India must be very happy at the days proceedings for restricting New Zealand for 148 for 7 with Mccullum on 34 and Southee on 7. Indian pace baller duo of Sri Sant and Ishant Sharma balled very well in absence of Zaheer Khan and claimed 2 wickets each. The two spinners Ozha and Harbhajan also balled very well Ozha taking 2 wickets and Hrbhajan taking all important wicket of Jessy Ryder.India can hope to dominate the match by finishing their innings early and making a strong start through Sehwag and Gambhir.

Hi,
All is good for India but I do not think Gambhir would be batting well. He should call cricket a day. If Yuvraj was rested(?) why not this formless figure I wonder.

You are correct but there are so many mentors and god fathers of this or that player. And things are just like that ever.

I think this would be Gambhir's day tomorrow. It has been two matches and four innings where he has displayed the improvement yet was out playing poorly. I strongly think that he will definitely strike.
I liked to see Ishant sharma's aggression. He is the young fast bowler with lot of potentiality. He should be prominent figure in the Indian teams.
But the way New Zealand has been competing with India, I am sure it will not be a cake walk for Indians.

The baller to impress most today was ShreeSant he balled very well. Ishant Sharma some how did not live to his expectation. The promise he showed, in Australia or in India just before leaving for that famous Australian tour, is no more there. I hope he makes some marked improvement in his balling. No match in test cricket can be a cake walk but let us hope for the best considering Kiwis are already on the ropes.
