Do you ever disagree with a deleted discussion?

When MyLot deletes one of your discussions for going against the guidelines, do you usually agree with the decision? Have you ever felt you had a discussion wrongfully deleted? If so, did you just let it go? Or did you contact MyLot about it? If you've ever had to contact MyLot about a deleted discussion, did they make it up to you somehow?

i seldom posted discussion, but there are some cases that the discussion i responded to was deleted. there should be a valid grounds for the admin to delete the discussion and in order to avoid such case, better try not to post discussion that is or are against the rules. happy myloting. :)

I posted a discussion that I feel didn't break any rules, but MyLot thought it broke a rule. I sent them a private message explaining why I feel it didn't go against the guidelines. Now I'm waiting to see if I'll hear back. If they still disagree with me, then that's okay. They have every right to delete discussions. But I just wanted to have a voice in the matter!

They delete a discussion because i comented on someone that was concern about his friend smoking too much.I don't think i broke any rules at all.So i don't get this at all.

Hello friend, yes i had in the past. It was summer time, i was expecting my birthday and wanted some good ideas where i can spend time with friends. Just wanted to be something original, because not every day i become 25 years old. Mylot deleted my discussion, because it was against their rules. Actually since im here, i got really good rating and i don't need to put that kind of discussions to be rated. You can see by yourself, that i'm moving good with the stars and the opinions i give. I don't pretend for something, but person, who write, only because he doesn't have what else to do - it's not me. When i write, i write something, which is interesting for me. I could post the discussion for my birthday in facebook, but i wanted people, who doesn't know me to give fresh ideas. Every time i write a discussion here i can see different points of view, depends on the people. So I wanted just some tips, may be, some fresh and good idea. I'm a creative person and i don't like everything to be usual and boring. By the way, you got amazing glass as avatar. What drink is that? Mojito? Cheers.

I'm also having an issue with a discussion that was deleted regarding my birthday! (Also, it happened to be my 25th birthday! What a coincidence!) The guidelines say "Start discussions promoting a milestone, such as birthdays, anniversaries, reaching a certain myLot rating, etc. This is best celebrated via private messaging with your myLot friends." Which I understand completely! I don't think users should post discussions saying "It's my birthday!!!" because that's not really a quality discussion. However, I think you can start a discussion mentioning a birthday that is not promoting a milestone. For example, my discussion was about surprises. I mentioned I was surprised on my birthday and asked other users about surprises they've gotten. We went on to discuss nice things people have done for us and surprises we've gotten on all sorts of holidays. I feel that the fact I mentioned my birthday in the discussion was irrelevant to the discussion. It sounds like your discussion was similar... you weren't promoting your birthday... you were looking for party and celebration ideas which I personally feel is a legitimate discussion topic that doesn't violate the guidelines. Did you contact MyLot when your discussion was deleted? And thanks! It's an appletini in my avatar!

I answered their mail, it was kind of automatic, i knew they won't even read it, but days before that i had few really good discussions, where i had a lot of answers and i was so happy. Mylot just cut my wings that way and in my mad mood i wrote them to be calm, to not worry about my rating and earnings, that i am working good enough for all of that, so they can't bother my attitude at all.

I been getting alot of emails lately saying my response has been delted because the discussion was deleted. But never because my discussions was out of guideline. I just let it slide and just move on to the next discussions. I noticed my earnings went down, is this because of the discussions being deleted? Kind of weird. I guess i'll have 2 contact mylot about that..

Hello mylot will delete a discussion, or responses, because of violation of some guide lines , in the past my responses were deleted, because the discussions were deleted, but none of my posts were deleted, i never wrote back to mylot, i honor their decision So when one responds, he/she should be careful and cautious next time Thank you so much for sharing. Professor ‘Bhuwan’. . God bless you. Welcome always.

i've never had any of my own discussions deleted, but i have read discussios that were eventually deleted and i'd have to say i did agree with why most of them were since the ones i've seen were either "one line" discussions or "poll" type questions that really aren't discussions at all. i did have one of my responses deleted , since it was someone asking for money and i informed the discussion starter that his or her discussion was against Mylot's guidelines and would evntually be deleted and of course it was.

being a newbie it has not happened.....yet. But I think they should freeze the discussion to give you a chance to give your opinion as to why you think the discussion should continue

Sure I have. But not with one of my own. It was with another mylotter's. Although I didn't get a chance to respond to the discussion I did happen to see it. And thanks to it being in my inbox I was able to show another fellow mylotter, who is pretty much well known around the site, the discussion at hand and this mylotter couldn't see anything wrong with the discussion either. After that, I just couldn't let it go. I ended up emailing admin. It didn't do any good though. They never did give a reason for it, nor did they make up for it as far as I know. Now when it comes to my own I usually agree with it, even if I don't agree with some of the guidelines. Fortunately for me I haven't had too many deleted. But then again I haven't started many either! LOL Happy mylotting!

hi mylot does not ever delete my discussions , and know why? because I followed mylot 's suggestiong and read all their information on what you can discuss and what you cannot discuss. I read the rules and the questions and answers and learned the rules. there is little excuse for not reading the info and learning and heeding it.I have watched and learned pretty much which discussion would be delted. time after time mylotters make poll type discussions and just hope mylot will not delete them. why do this as poll type questions cannot lead to a real discussion. they are usually like this ex. : Tell me how many times a day you go to the store? thats not a valid discussion in that it can just be answered with a one word answer like twelve. go read the rules of discussion as it will really help you to know what to avoid so as not to have a discussion deleted.

yes sometimes because if we had not really read the guidelines fully.. and if it affects the guidelines directly, but if they delete the discussion for some unknown reasons it will be bad.. but i haven't experienced it in my case..

one of discussion was deleted not because it was against the guidelines but because i want them to. i want to get rid on one of the discussion i started and the admin of mylot quickly deleted it. i told them i want that post erased and they did. so technically, it was my choice and not because i violated something

I haven't had any discussions deleted yet - well, that would have been a challenge, I only started two so far However, three or four of the discussions I responded to got deleted, and I didn't quite agree... they were breaking the rules in a way, since they were "poll" type discussions, but the answers they got were quite interesting and very well documented, I learnt a lot from reading what other people had to say in those discussions. It's a pity that all those good answers were lost when the discussions were deleted. I haven't contacted myLot directly about this yet, but I'm making a list with these discussions... when I feel I have enough arguments, I will drop them an e-mail, maybe I can make a good case and convince them to change the rules a bit.
