I just registered for my first half-marathon. I have plenty of time to train as it's not until May. This is good because the weather should be nicer by then too! lol! I also just won my first first place medal in my age division! That was cool. How was your racing season? What are your goals for next year?

I personally do not run marathons and have not done so many years. I am still however avidly riding my bike so I have to say that my goal is still thriving. Congrats on your medal and best of luck with your upcoming marathon. Sounds like you will do well, so Good luck!!

Marathons are much more fun on a bicycle. ;) I've done one of those before and the scenery was definitely more enjoyable when I wasn't so sore. They're also over much quicker.

You've accomplished much by your ever running good spirit. That should be really exciting, and I congratulate you on taking the first step. You will need to train daily for the next five months. More importantly, you should keep eat a healthy diet that is rich in carbohydrates and protein. Many people around the world just are too scared to compete in such marathons. This decision just shows how brave you are in trying new things. I wish you well before you head out to the tracks. Keep us updated about your training progress.

Thank you so much for the well wishes! I have started tweeking my diet and trying to decide the proper course for my eating. I am aiming for running four days a week for right now. two short days, one medium and one long! Hopefully I will build up slowly and not injure anything!

Oh that is cool! My goals are just to get any medal in my age division and to run a 2 mile faster than 15:30. I'd also like to increase my distances again so that I can at least comfortably run a 10K if one comes by that I can sign up for.

I have several medals in my age division now. I am training for the half but it sure is going slow! I can't wear my running shoes anymore as they are too broken down so I have to go slow with my old sneakers because they are not good to run in! anyway - hoping to do a 10k about feb or march. Then the half is in may..
