Started a new blog not sure how to proceed

Hi guys, I started my first blog with Blogger and was wondering if anyone would give me some tips about how to increase my traffic, adsense clicks, and basically encourage me on the way. I was thinking of writing reviews of books that I read, giving personal comments and thoughts and such, what do you think might help me on my way of making quality posts? Thanks.

Start interacting with people who have similar blogs, comment on their websites. Hell, in this day and age, most writers and published authors have websites and blogs, so you can start interacting with them as well (maybe even reviewing their books?).
For best ways to monetize your blog (if it's something you want to do) I'd suggest you check out ProBlogger.com as they are very knowledgable on the subject and the own actually make six figure income of his various blogs.
