If you hurt all over, you're doing it wrong. I'd guess that you learned to do it from watching TV or reading a book, or you have a teacher who's not really qualified. If done properly, which means paying attention to your body, and getting into it gradually, you should very rarely feel pain. And whatever pain you do feel should be temporary, and less every time you do the position that's giving you the pain. Just like anything else in life, if you overdo it or do it wrong, it's going to bite you in the -ss.

Yes you are right actually. I remember yoga being hard in the beginning, but it never actually hurt, that can't be good!

If it's painful, then you are trying to go beyond your limits. Don't push yourself too hard. Just because one person can do a pose with ease, doesn't mean that you should be able to. It takes time and practice and gradual progression. And everybodys' body is different.

I think it is just hard in the beginning, before you get used to it. I used to be really bad at yoga, but it got much easier once I learned the basics. So that is really the best advice I can give you, start with the basics and do not give up. You will get the hang of it eventually!
