Which of these Top myLot money earning tips do you find work best?

I recently did some web searching on making money on myLot, and found several tips like adding pictures to your posts and answers, or populating your "My Interests" section with as many topics as interest you as you get extra for answering questions in your interest categories, referrals, starting questions as opposed to answering them, etc. My question is has anyone ever looked at these options to specifically try to quantify what makes the most money here on myLot? Any anecdotal observations, as I have noticed answering questions seems to rank the lowest on myLot money makers.

I have stumbled across quite a few postings about some sort of secrets with myLot. I find a great many to be untrue. Some of them are what are attracting members to break a great many of myLot guidelines. See the only success with myLot is to simply follow the guidelines. Sure we do get paid for post quality discussions, but posting must be commented back to. Here is what I always tell new members that are asking: The link will give you the dos and don't on myLot, as a new and veteran member this link should be visited often as it clears up any misunderstandings as to why posts and discussion get deleted. http://www.mylot.com/o/guidelines.aspx Tips: Always, always start quality discussions, myLot will not tolerate rubbish and or trying to gain referrals so never, ever post referral links in your discussions. The first response to your discussion here will be deleted as this is prohibited. And anyone replying to that set of discussion will get their replies also deleted. When you start discussions, always, always respond to the members who commented on your discussions. You will not earn just because you posted a discussion. In other words. You start the discussion, I respond, I earn. You comment back you earn. SIMPLE and remember the more members respond, the more you comment back, you earn more. Then I mention the myLot tasks and to have fun and the rest comes naturally. With regards to pictures we earn when members use them in discussions and or comment on them while they are in the discussions. This all works for me, hope it helps others

Great tips. I am about to go look at the link, but I am curious, when you say :the first response to your discussion here will be deleted as this is prohibited" are you referring to surpriz3's comments? I too have found myself wanting to see the answer to a topic, and am afraid I will not find it easily again. DO you have any suggestions on how to "mark a thread" to watch the responses come through without running the risk of having your comment deleted? Off to read the guidelines doc and looking for more "myths". Thanks again.

What about posting the same conversation to multiple categories? For example, I see there are about 1/2 dozen or so categories titled "making money", "make extra money", "earn money" etc. I assume it would likely be redundant as the same people would likely subscribe to them all, but in more obscure categories, I see a variety of topics in multiple subcategoies. For example under "Places I have worked" and "Things that I have done" there seems to be a lot of overlap. Is it best to just look for the category with the most people, or is there some way to ensure your topics are getting out to the right people? I ask because i have a topic about movies with no response. I assume it is possible no one is interested in the topic in that category, but it just seems a bit odd. It also seems like it would attract some interest from some people on myLot, but I am not sure how to reintroduce the topic in another category without steping on toes. Any thoughts?

"Don't Post the same response to different discussions even if the discussions are related or similar. This type of activity will more than likely harm your reputation rating" http://www.mylot.com/o/guidelines.aspx

Realise that mylot is a discussion site and is not for questions and answers. As others have said above post + respond + comment + comment some more + then some more = furthering the topic, which is what we earn for here.

By all means ask a question but add something else to it too. Like your own opinion so that others have an idea of how youthink about the topic and can find 'something to chew on' when responding. Then you can continue the discussion once they have answered your question. When responding on topics started by others, iof they get back and comment to you, then go and add some more. I see that you are doing this here and you will see the results for your efforts soon and realise that it is so worthwhile. Question type headlines sometimes are repeated in the topic itself and nothing else is added. They are deleted so it is best to avoid them. I see that the busiest discussions are those where the OP gets back and comments giving those who participate more chances to earn too.

Good to know. I have struggled with the idea of topics and questions. A balancing act between trying to get peoples interests up, and enough to give a basis of the topic. I have also gone back and forth between trying to give ample opinion, or just leave a basic starter question. It seems most people don't like to read much these days, and I fear they will lose interest in the first 4 or 5 seconds of reading. Maybe just own mis-perception? I don't know.

Valid point to keep in mind when starting discussions, but isn't asking questions one of the best ways to get discussions started? Understandably, within the context of the discussion and not simple straight out Q&A style topics. But do you find question type headlines get people more likely to respond? Or does it really just depend on the topic chosen and the collective interest of the members at the moment the question hits the boards?

Adding friends and referral system. Adding friends can give you lots of discussion to participate to. Referral system can increase your earnings as you dont know.
