You probably have heard of the hotel explosion in Cancun, Mexico just a week ago. My hubby and I were vacationing in the same beautiful and grand hotel the week before it happened. We were supposed to stay that week when the gas explosion occurred but I convinced my hubby to go earlier for I found a better all inclusive deal. I remember roaming around that same lobby that is now in ruins. The accident caused seven lives and injuries to a lot of tourists and workers at the hotel. I was just thinking that it was like a bomb ticking and about to explode anytime. Had we been there earlier, we could have been one of the casualties. I guess we were lucky but my heart goes out to all the victims. Today, I heard over the news that they have shut down the hotel for further investigation.
Have you any experience or know anyone who could have been a victim like the incident I just related?

Oh my, that was sure close! I also experienced a similar incident in 2004. I guess you remember the 2004 Asian Tsunami right? That time, before the tsunami occurred, I was in Penang with my family having a vacation. We were holidaying for about a week. We went to Langkawi Island in a ferry for 3 days and we went back to Penang to get our car because it was parked there, in the hotel's basement carpark. Our holiday ended and we decided to go back to my father's hometown. Right there, we saw the news, the tsunami occurred and hit several islands and including Penang! The tsunami even hit the hotel! Woah! That was like so close!

yes ive been to that experience too.. I was supposed to board on a bus that is RURAL TRANSIT when my mom called me at my cellphone to tell me that I forgot something and so I got out from the bus and decided to take another bus because I have to wait for my mother to arrive to pick up the package I forgot to bring and after around 30 minutes of waiting I've heard a loud noise and people running away from the BIG BANG that I've heard. When I came to check what was going out I found out that the bus which I supposedly be boarding was in so much ruin. There was so much blood and dislocated bodies where all over the place.. I can't forget the scenario up until now.. still I have nightmares to what happen.. THANK GOD if its not because of my Mom and the package I've forgot.. maybe I'm one of those people who were hardly unrecognizable because of the bomb set by some soulless people..

I was so lucky that it didn't happened to me and my family, I hope that all terrorist groups in the world would die in just a snap because they are not worthy to live.

You were one lucky couple then! I had the same experience back in the 90s. I wast just 11 then and I went on vacation on a place called the summer capital of the Philippines. We stayed there for two days and went back to Manila when the great earthquake happened killing a lot of people. We were too close if we didn't leave early!

I do not know anyone who was in an experince like that. My heart goes out to all those family and freinds of all those who's lives were lost. I heard on the news one of the men was a newlywed on his honeymoom. That is so incredibly sad. You are so lucky that things worked out like this for you, obviously it wasnt your time to go.
