Well, people have it in many cultures, but it goes by different names. In Norse tradition, it's called the nine days of marriage, for nine days you sleep with your new spouse to consummate the marriage. Couples are also given time to produce children this way.
Nowadays, honeymoons mostly happen on the weekend and maybe for two to three days, but it is just so that the couple can start a family and get used to living with each other.

Maybe honey because it is sweet to do and a little bit sticky hehe and moon because you do it at night when the wedding ceremony is over and all the guests are gone especially the relatives and parents of your spouse,hahaha , just a wild educated guess because you asked lol
