I just arrived from my bird watching. then, I am sorry for my late comment to the other response on my discussion. I got a picture of stork flock, when I see them on the trees near a paddy field, I think about 80 stork there. why they on that place? why they not on the beach? anyone know the reason?

I do not know that much about storks. I do wonder since we have geese that congregate on the ground when they are about to migrate, whether the storks are getting ready to migrate. So in my opinion they are getting ready to take off.
Another thing is that area could have been underwater or a beach, and since birds use instincts, they ma;y congreagate there because instincts tell them they are at the beach. But really I think they are getting ready to migrate.

maybe they getting ready to migrate, but maybe they just arrived on the migration place, because I think the storks not breeding on Indonesia. they migrate to indonesia, caused by they place has been winter. Indonesia as a tropical season, doesn't have winter, but rainy season.

It is possible that they were either getting ready to take off or coming in. I am not that much into birds, but from what I I know about birds who migrate, they need specific temperatures to breed. Now we in Canada have robins, sparrows, et. and they have their baby birds here, but they will migrate to another place during winter. And it could be that either they have baby birds there or it might be sort of what we call a vacation.

In my opinion, the birds are having an migration activity from one place to another place. Then, in the middle of way, they are getting tired and looking for some meal (something that can eaten.
