My son is almost 13 and is an aspie. He had been on medication for a very long time but i had started to realize as he got older it was interfering with his mood. I was thinking of some herbal medications. He has a hard time sleeping still and focusing, so I was going to go to the healthfood store and perhaps get him some focus factor and some chamomile capsules. He drinks herbals teas with me so I know he isn't allergic to chamomile. I spray his room will diffused lavender oil as well. I am happy with the results. Yes he is a little hyper, but nothing like he was when he was younger. My fear was he would be medicated his whole life. Anyone have anymore herbal or homeopathic suggestions I can look into?

When I was growing up, I was the one to always disturb the other kids in class. If I were a kid today, Id be on meds for sure.
I used to go to sleep with headphones, listening to music (rock). The only time I could be quiet was when I had music on. And I dont mean boring music, I used to listen to Led Zep and the likes........still do as a matter of fact whenever I feel stressed out, I turn on the music loud and it sure helps me.
I wouldnt know about any herbal meds to calm him. I tried some a few times but couldnt get off them easily after.....yes even herbal can be addictive sometimes.
We have doctors here who prescribe herbal meds....maybe it would be best if you were to try and find such a doctor?
Or maybe put him on a "music therapy"? lol.
Good Luck, I sure hope you find something soon to help your son.
