Can you sleep even out of your bed?

It's funny how some people manage to sleep in different positions and even when they are not in bed. One example is my father who can just fall a sleep in the living room while sitting on the sofa. He would just wake up the next day since we could no longer wake him up when he's already asleep. How about you? What is your position when yo sleep? Can you sleep even if you're out of your bed? Feel free to share!

haha,it's not my way .but it's quite common .this topic can bring time back to me when my elder sister aged 8 fell asleep in bed but woke up on the cupboard the next morning .she told me she truly didn't know why and when she had made it . i thought it's incredible .luckily she didn't often do things like that ,or else she would make me cry with fear . now i find my wife also doesn't sleep peacefully ,what's better is she dosn't sleep to that degree . it sounds so funny ,but why ?

Yeah, it's funny but sad at the same time. I'm no doctor but I have read from some articles that people who doesn't have a deep sleep is a person who has got a lot of worries for tomorrow. The main reason actually why I feel comfortable lying on my belly is I don't get to move from one position to another. And so I don't get destructed. I guess your wife must drink some water before sleeping and advise her not to think of the things she hasn't done and should be done the next day...

I don't have a favored position sleeping. I read somewhere it has a psychological basis, the positions in which you sleep in. When I'm really really tired I can pretty much sleep anywhere though - hard airport benches, overnight commuter bus, even standing up once lol (just a few minutes though).

I see...in my case I would always sleep in prone position. I want to feel my own body close to me. I want to feel the warmth of my arms near me. I don't like having someone to sleep beside me. I don't shift from one position to another. I just get to sleep with that particular position. :-)

Yes, I can sleep even though I might not be in my bed. I don't sleep as well as when I am in my own bed. But I can still do it.

I see. Maybe if I am that tired I would be able to sleep too. The problem is, I barely sleep so maybe I would not manage to sleep not in my bed.

If i am ill anytime i can fall asleep any where. Also i have had to go to sleep downstairs in my house before and i have slept on the sofa and sometimes i end up going to bed on there now as well, but only if i can not master getting up my stairs into my bedroom.I think that if you are tired enough then you will go to sleep almost any where.

I must say we no longer need some bed and room to sleep then! lol! People are indeed getting busier each time and don't even have enough time to sleep. Thanks!

No problem, I can even sleep when I am out of my bed. I remember while I was serving the army and we went out camp for an exercise. A platoon mate and myself were so tired that we sleep on the ground with was full of pebbles and stones. While it is very uncomfortable and painful, both of us managed to fell asleep.

Wow! That must be tough. It is hard to simply go to sleep especially when you are not used to sleeping on a hard board. How much more for pebbles? You must be very very tired then.

Yeah, as long as i am sleepy, it doesn't matter where or what position is available, in bed or in ground! Lol

My father as well as my bf does that at most times. My fathers has a chair massager that turned out to be an ordinary chair. As he sits there, he never fails to fall asleep at any time of the day while watching movies. My bf on the other hand falls asleep easily because he's tired everyday even without getting his clothes changed. LOL! I, on the contrary, can take a nap on moving vehicles but not for one straight hour or more because I am sensitive to light and noise plus I don't easily fall asleep when I'm not on my comfy bed. And yes, my bed is heaven to me so not really.

No way I can sleep if I'm not in my bed. I've tried to sleep in a coach, a car and a train but I just can't..I can stay awake all night but I won't sleep if I don't feel comfortable

I got totally no problems about where i sleep in parties i've slept in places you can't imagine like on a cupboard or something like bed made of three chairs. It pretty much depends of the person :)

I fairly agree with you. It depends on the person. I came to have this question because sleep is the best part of my day and I want it to be really safe and peaceful.

My mom does the same thing and I ask her all the time how she sleeps sitting on the living room sofa. Me on the other hand has to sleep on my own bed at all times. I can't even stay over a friends house I feel so uncomfortable sleeping on another persons bed and laying my head on someone elses pillow other than my own. I stay up half the night for some strange reason it's weird

Definitely I can sleep out of and even outside of the house as long as i can lay down and close my eyes i could definitely sleep tight one downside when you sleep outside is when bugs and mosquitoes bite you.also trying to sleep in an empty stomach is hard.but never the less a man can sleep if he really needs to on any position on any time and any place.

You are right in some extent but I could never sleep anywhere. I mean I could sleep on the floor as long as it's in my room. Whenever I got out with friends, no matter how tired or sleepy I am, I have this kind of alarm clock that tells I must go home now because my lazy body wanted to descend on my soft bed before I close my eyes! I just seem to be on my bed before I lose my consciousness.

Haha.. speaking of which. My sleeping habit is so horrible in such that if there is anyone beside me, i would kick them out of the bed. Its very funny when one time, i gave a head-butt on my cousin's stomach or i kick my brother on his face. I really dont understand how could i turn to the other side of the bed to kick him on his face...When it happened, it was not funny because i really made them cry in the middle of the night. But now, when i relate it to now, it is very funny.. ;)
