Who do you think invented the first tongue twister? Why do you think that this person invented such a thing? Can you speak tongue twisters without getting tongue tied?

Hello Wink30, I am absolutely hopeless at tongue twisters, I even struggle when trying to say them really slowly, but some people can be amazing at how fast they can say the phrase or sentence. Here's a link to a site that has hundreds of tongue twister, Enjoy.. http://www.uebersetzung.at/twister/en.htm

I think someone said one and took it to the masses. I am sure it happened alot all down through the ages but this one person actually made it public. It takes such happening for things to be known. I mean if the guy that invented the wheel hadn't brought it to the masses who knows when we would have had one.

Funny this should come up. Someone just sent me the best Pinky and the Brain cartoon tongue twister snippet. I had to share with others that appreciate a good twisting of the tongue. Unfortunately, I have no clue on how they got started, and I have enough difficulty unraveling my own sentences, without adding any challenge to them http://www.smosh.com/smosh-pit/lists/pinky-and-brain-tongue-twister

I've always wondered who invented the first tongue twister, I once heard that they originally came from a Japanese poem, but I'm not sure if that's true. I guess they are really poems, just really difficult to say ones! We used to have to do tongue twisters at school in Drama over and over again until we got every single bit right but I don't reckon I'd be any good at them anymore!
