What are your thoughts on skepticim that many raise regarding Global Warming? Do you think skeptics are mostly tobacco agencies and others that let off too much carbon emission.. ? Joy

Personally (and please don't take offense to this) that anyone who cannot see the effect of Global warming, are blind. This year alone, my family and I have noticed a number of changes that suggest that the earth isn't as strong as she used to be. First off this summer, was the worst we've had in I don't know how long. Last year there were more than a few weeks hot enough to go in the pool in the yard. This year however we were only able to go in a couple of times, it was just too cold. The majority of the time we had rain in spring and summer this year, instead of the sun that we are so used to. Another thing that we noticed is this: For as long as anyone in our family could remember, there has been snow on the ground for Halloween. This year, it was record breaking warm for this time of the year. Another thing that people should consider is the ice burgs. They are melting and no amount of skirting the issue will make it go away. There is now scientific PROOF that Global Warming is changing the Earth. I know that there are people who don't believe and therefor don't try to make a difference. I personally am the opposite. I know that things are changing and because of that my husband and family are planning on making a number of changes and plans to help out. Hopefully things don't get any worse. It would be nice if we could all work together to help out.

Good to know that we are on the same page, too bad there aren't more of us out there. Keep up the good discussions.

hi! As a skeptic I think I'd take it more seriously if there wasn't the business of selling carbon credits! And politicians racing around weekly and daily in jumbo gas guzzling jets and limos, and keeping up multiple large estates. Also if I hadn't seen such wide changes in weather and temperature ranges during my 55 years of life.. And I have to say, if it wasn't so closely tied to proposed new government programs and intervention into business. It just fits too snugly into the down with business (aka jobs) mentality, and conservatives are always concerned with jobs and think the more liberal party is concerned with more government programs thus more government and more government power which thrives on (convenient) crises, invented and otherwise.. my take on it is "a convenient untruth"!blessings and all the best..

make that 'zipping across country in personal jets" - guess they couldn't bill the taxpayers for elaborate meals and lodging if they video conferenced.. you know, to reduce the huge carbon footprints (taxpayers are paying for when they buy carbon credits for their jets and travels?)

The vast majority of reputable scientists world-wide accept global warming is a result largely of man's activity, those sceptics are duped by the interests of oil companies and the other vested interests. all the best urban

I believe as you do that those who claim there is no worry about Global warming do have vested interests.. I am taking SCI 207 and it's all about the Environment.Biodiversity and preserving each orgnaisms habitat.
