Selling out?!

I have been a hard core Green Day fan for 7 1/2 years now. But in the last 5 years I have seen a change in their style. Some say they are going main stream, and going soft for the money. Others say that they are simply growing up. You have to mature sometime right? But is it maturing, or are they selling out? I love them, and all of their music. I prefer the older stuff from Dookie/Nimrod though, but I'm not quite sure as to what to think of their recent change...any opinions about this would be great, thanks! :)
