Last night, as I and my friends were walking on the sidewalk together with a bunch of students who like us have no classes to attend. While walking, there was a student (girl) also ahead of us and this student was texting while walking. We were just shocked when a man between 30-40 years of age suddenly grabbed her hand and took her phone. I, together with my friends were shocked that we did not notice that our mouths have gone open. After that crime, the man just simply walked as if nothing has happened. If you were me how would you react considering that it was the first time that you saw a crime like that?

Get the best description of the man you can, then call the police and report the theft.
Reporting the theft is also good because most service providers won't bill you for calls made after the theft is reported.. and they can also help out with the investigation.

Well first of all it depends how old are you and will you be able to do something about that case. If you are old enough you should definitely go with your friends after that man and ask for the phone or if needed use force because it is a crime...
Especially if you know the girl you should help her asuming that you were atleast 5 or 6 people it is really bad to leave someone like that just watching. And if you are not old enough simply look for help scream to take attention of someone that could possibly help.
