No More Disney Princesses?

According to an article I read, the new president of Disney is turning away from making anymore fairytale movies like "Tangle" and "Princess and the Frog." Instead, they want to do more action movies for kids, saying that princess films alienate boys who would rather watch "Iron Man" than some animated fairytale.
Now, I grew up watching Disney movies like "Little Mermaid," "Beauty and The Beast" and "Aladdin." I also watched action movies like "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles," "Batman" and "Superman" as well. I don't see why you have to choose to make one or the other. There is a market for both.
In fact, I think Disney should continue to make fairytale movies because no other company does it better than them. If they want to make movies geared toward boys, do that as well.
What do you think? Should Disney continue to crank out the princesses or are Disney princesses out-dated?

I do suppose they should step away from outer beauty concepts. I know they did that with the Hunchback of Notre Dame (which is a wonderful classic), but I think they should express the theme of inner beauty WITHOUT outer beauty. If anything, the princess should be strong-willed and developed.
Out-dated? I'm not so sure. Tiana proves to be a very strong feminine influence without denying love. This was the movie that actually averted the cliche love-at-first-sight. And I have yet to see Tangled.
Well, I don't mind whether a movie is Princess or action, I still want a good movie.

That's true. There should be more movies about inner beauty.
No matter what kind of movie it is, it should have a good storyline.

It is obviously not true because years later after you posted it. We got Brave, Frozen and Moana.

If they do continue to make "princess" movies, I hope they find a new formula.
Boy meets girl.
Girl falls in love with boy (or vice versa).
Something beyond their control keeps them from each other.
One of them turns to supernatural forces to get what they want.
The supernatural force works, but something goes wrong.
They get together (usually in spite of, not because of the supernatural power).
They live happily ever after.
