We all know "row row row your boat", but it must be said after the 14th repeated verse it gets a little dull. In the various child care groups we've been to some inventive people have added bits, verses and obvious actions which makes the thing a whole lot more enjoyable for the kids and a bit less teduious for us adults, why not try these out....
...
gently up the shore
if you see a lion
don't forget to roar
...
up the jungle stream
if you see a crocodile
don't for get to scream
...
gently up the river
if you see a polar bear
don't for get to shiver
...
on the muddy puddle
if you see your mum or dad
give them a big cuddle
anybody come across any others, or any other songs with extra bits ?
Have Fun !

Those are all very cute. I don't remember coming up with my own verses for the nursery rhyme songs to make them more enjoyable for the children. However, we would always make up little dances to go along with the songs because that was something that both my own children and also my two little nieces really enjoyed doing when we were singing the nursery rhymes. Even now they still love to do Ring Around the Rosie because of the dances that we've done with it.
