It's funny how things turn out

Australia was one of my to dos in my long list of things, before i kick the bucket. Although i had been there before it was only for the briefest of visits. This time i was leaving the cold of UK and going there for their summer for three months. Did i say summer well someone never told the weather gods. During my time there the area of outback i was in had the most rain it had had for more than 30 years - I must have struck lucky. Every day the skies opened and down it came rain, rain, rain - by the time i was ready to leave and head back to UK it had started to improve. Well i think im going to give it one more try and go back again just after christmas and try and find some of that elusive sun. Have you been surprised about how things were totally different from what you had read or seen on television about a particular place? did it fall below or exceed your expectations?
