KFC is now offering the Double Down, I may want to have some piece of it
someday but it seems to be an unhealthy snack/meal.
KFC Original Recipe® Double Down has 540 calories, 32g fat and 1380 mg sodium
KFC Grilled Double Down has 460 calories, 23g fat and 1430 mg sodium.
From their site is says:
The new KFC Double Down sandwich is real! This one-of-a-kind sandwich features two thick and juicy boneless white meat chicken filets (Original Recipe® or Grilled), two pieces of bacon, two melted slices of Monterey Jack and pepper jack cheese and Colonel's Sauce. This product is so meaty, there’s no room for a bun.
Anyone got a taste of this meat? Whats your say?

Hi insurectus,
I love eating at KFC and though I am not a big fan of original receipe chicken of KFC but i like their Hot and Cripsy chicken a lot. I along with friends or family would go there and have a bucket of that chicken. I am from Indian and they offer very little menu as compared to west as they dont offer any beef product for obvious reasons. And the double down which you are talking about , i didnt see it in menu here but then last time i went there was over 15 days back.

KFC is a fastfood, so expect unhealthy food.
I've had the KFC Double Down and it's nothing to write home about. It's KFC chicken with cheese and bacon. I am not a fan of Monterey Jack - for me it does not go well with protein. It needs a carbohydrate to dampen the sharp tangy taste. I ended up eating mine with rice.

Not me no. It didn't look appetizing to me when I saw the commercial. By the way, I haven't seen it in a while. Maybe they came to their senses and took this heart attack helper off the menu!

I tried this last week and it was full of oil and after munching the whole thing I thought I was going to faint. A couple of minutes after I finished eating it I had an upset stomach and was running for the restroom. I'll try it again this week but this time I am going to eat it at the comfort of my house.

Last sunday, I went to KFC to try it, but it wasn't available. I don't know if it sells that good or they just don't want to sell it much or they ran out of chicken. Haha
I think it tastes great, I love everything that's in it, except the sodium and cholesterol.

This food has eluded me for quite some time now. I've been hunting this product since it came out, unfortunately I'm not that lucky. I always end up seeing a sold out sign slapped on the product on the menu boards. I'll get you someday double down, if it's the last thing I do, mwahahahahah! Burp!

I have no idea if I would ever try this. I don't like the kind of cheese they put on it, and I'm not a fan of bacon.
However, if my husband were to buy one, then I'd probably have a bite, just to see what the hype is all about.
As a person trying to watch what they eat, this is not something that should be eaten. The sodium content alone is equal to what you should have in a day, let alone one meal.
If you eat this, then you shouldn't eat anything else for the rest of the day.
This is a killer, and if it turns out like the movie Super Size Me, then there will be lawsuits galore from people who ate too many of these and got sick and fat.

I have been wondering how this would taste. Surely at the first and second bite it would taste really good. But all that meat without a bun? But I will try it anyway, when I the timing is right -- you know, if I am at KFC, I am not in a hurry and I am not short in cash.
Cheers!

I've never tried this stuff yet. It sounds so good though. Thanks for this info. I might try it one of these days and but I doubt if I'd be a fan of the food. But as far as I know, I haven't seen this yet in any KFC outlet here at our place.
